Nkevin90 nailed it - this guy gives us an average joe pespective. i honestly enjoyed it vs probably a pro who's soo fast like it was nothing. now we get to appreciate how difficult it really is racing DH at a pro level.
@mountguitars, Claudio was a consistent top-20 WC racer in years gone past, pretty sure he managed a podium at Mont Sainte Anne about 10 years ago. He's no punter, that's for sure!
Hahaha i laughed at the end when he was saying he almost did what sam hill did at world champs but because of all his experience he stayed up! Props to this dude he should definitely do more course previews!
I agree with all the above, the fact that he comes into a section and says "Where am I going?" rather than "Oh, you know, you just have to stay off the brakes here you know, its a bit steep but if its dry its not too bad you know?" Gives an idea for just how crazy the track is.
I wish this guy could narate everything in my life.
Claudio Caluori is the guy. Legendary racer and Gstaad Scott team manager.
Everyother website showing this manages to give him credit. Common PB it is not hard and this disregard to give dues is starting to get unprofessional.
Often times PB puts some info on the home page (on the link you click on to get here) that doesn't get moved over to the actually page. "Dues" were given there. Sure they didn't put his name in big white lights but I don't think they disregarded to give dues. Obviously not the best place to put it...
Somethings wrong with the video. Instead of a generic cliched rap or rock soundtrack there's somebody making funny and insightful comments on the course. Please fix this ASAP - we don't want to encourage any risky behavior like filming without a fisheye lens and not using slow motion 95% of the time.
"Hi, my name's Claudio, and I'm gonna be your tour guide."
I thought the FW commentary made him legendary but this absolutely kills it. Awesome. I hope his voice will become something we hear regulary in the next months to come - and maybe years?
Imagine standing on the side of the track, so steep it's difficult to walk and this dude rides by narrating his run down like he was walking on the beach, two GoPro's going all the while!
Like the way the painted rocks match his bike ! : ) Nice track ! The way I like them. A cool mix of roots, rocks, slow technical sections, open, everything !
HA! so cool that he did commentary all the way down! I don't think I would be able to concentrate on my line and talk about the track at the same time successfully!
what d you talking about? That's THE Template WorldCup DH anyone must rely on - natural stuff, gnarly and super steep... Track build for pros not humans with DH rigs like others in the WC circuit.
really - image quality seemed excellent to me given that the lighting was swapping between dark/light all way down and why stabilise - the shakiness represents how extreme that track is!!
Great video. i agree some shakiness is good in that it represents the track; Its interesting to compare the chest cam vs head cam - the video flicks between the modes a few times - the chest cam is soooooo much more emersive, because of the shakiness -how you see the the body moving in response to the track - definitely much more representative of the ride... while all that body movement actually stabilizes the head, and the result is that the head shots, take away all sense of effort as the head kind of glides down...

They ddi the same with Dirt TV a few days ago too.
ROFL!!!!! He was so about to crash right there and just chatted right through it.
I thought the FW commentary made him legendary but this absolutely kills it. Awesome. I hope his voice will become something we hear regulary in the next months to come - and maybe years?
This dude's commentary was hilarious and awesome at the same time. I felt tense through out this video because of his breathing and voice changes.
Was that a Scott Gambler he was on?
Nice track !
The way I like them. A cool mix of roots, rocks, slow technical sections, open, everything !
The chest cam angles rules...
Still epic
