Aaron might not have had the budget or the A-List riders of other film companies, but this is a really good film, perhaps not a 'Roam' beater, but a great achievement.
hat off to you sir.
good vid but it was non-stop biking with non-stop music...maybe in your next vid throw in a tiny interview or some narration about locations, building crews, bike setups, and other things
can i please ask why is pretty much all of pinkbike is full of kids that think they're better than everyone else.
it kinda ruined it 'cause they aren't very good
I don't want to name names or anything.
but whitetux might know a little more about it
dude! that was amazing, so inspiring, great riding, i loved that it was nonstop action, music went with the riding, if it goes out on dvd defenently one in my books, makes me wanna ride so much, congradulations!
Elio.
I went to the victoria premier and this is an amazing video from start to end and Im excited to see what's next (no punn intended) coming out of Aaron.
I downloaded it.
The movie was Ok. I got bored towards the ends because all it is is dirtjumpers in slowmo. If there was some talking like Seasons it would be alot better. Great filming and great riding!
I've seen most of the films out there and the one thing that struck me about this one was Aaron's choice of trail shots. He's got a photographers eye when it comes to framing and composition, not too arty but the terrain seems to be as important as the riders are, the shot of the waterfall drop to manual is something I've never seen before. Well done!!!
Thanks man, Taylor is an amazing rider and has only bee riding MTB's for a few months. He comes from BMX and is killing it so far. There will be lots more from him, that's for sure.
Aaron.. Congrats buddy! putting taylor in this video was a great decision on your part. He is an amazing rider. I am stoked to be friends with him, he is so positive and never puts anyone down. He pumps up everyone. Thank you aaron for this amazing peice of art, and I can't wait for the next one.
sweet intro & first segment. matt brooks - nice motoish loopstyle (kamloops?), 14:40, 15:30. taylor leigh - 21:04, nice style. frankie vass - this guy could pull a stunt off of anything, good urban, 27:34, smooth. great videography throughout, full speed clips were my favs. cheers. coup.
awesome movie!! my only issue is there was too much dirt jumping and not enough trails and north shore. but still an excellent vid!! thanks for the free view. it made a rainy afternoon not suck so bad!
A good vid makes you want to go ride, but an amazing vid makes you want to go get better! I cant wait to go huck myself. Props to PB and Aaron for making this available, Aaron I know you've got a wicked bright future.
There was a hell of alotta slow mo in that. Still was a sick movie (even though I didnt get to see it to the end (Crappy computer) so can someone please tell me what the name of the second song was, or where I can find the song list? thanks)
I love this film, but more so, I love the music throughout the WHOLE thing! Normally I hate the tracks ppl choose for their films, but this one is great in all aspects: riding, cinematography, and music!
the video only goes to 5 minutes on here and starts over. ive tried going to the posted links in this thread to download it and i cant seem to get it to work. anybody else havin this problem? anyone know how to fix it? haha
I watched it again and I appreciate it more. The riders were "down to earth" and it there's angles I just didn't notice before. I think I may have been distracted first time around. I'm glad i read some comments here because they all made me want to see it again to see if I was missing out. Indeed I was
wow. apsalutly awsome, rock on aaron, hes deffinantly got a future in filming besides ant hill and freeride entertainment! i wud like to see NWD beat this, haha
ive got to say that is one of the best films ive seen in ages, im my eyes laroque is straight up there with the lights of clay porter on the basis of the filmography used, even though they both have different styles. amazinggg
Wow, amazing. Absolutely stunning; however, there was one thing that struck me as odd. While the soundtrack was good, all of the music sounded the same. I'm not sure how, but I just feel like it all had the same general mood and beat. So for the next amazing installment, maybe through some auditory variety.
Well just watched that and it was sick. Don't worry about the interviews or tech stuff everyone can read magazines for that. Its all about the riding and you got that wrapped up in this.
Peace
Great video - really good quality footage and such a refreshing change to not have god-awful emo/pop-punk as the soundtrack. Really liked the section with the LaRoux/Skream track. One criticism would be too much dirt jumping for me - very impressive but gets a bit samey after a while. Would like more full downhill trails - I know it must be much harder to film but it's good to see a whole run as opposed to loads of clips.
Oh yeah, and I found the lack of interviews/talking refreshing too - the interviews in most of these films are pretty inane anyway to be honest - yeah we know how much you love riding your bike and how 'super-stoked' you are.
insane riding but i would have liked some interviews even if there only like in seasons were they have some guy introducing the rider before it cuts to the riding though really great film and really nicely edited realy liked the shots with the sunsets will
super sick, props on this. lovin the shoulder buzz 360 n that massive hip jump fuckin sick. lots of dj, would have liked more DH in there, either way it was very well done, once again props.
Hey, Aaron! Congrats on breaking 100,000 views of the full "What's Next?" film on Pinkbike! That's BIG! And lots of thanks to Pinkbike, for posting it, too!
are there any higher quality versions of this video? i'm trying to burn a DVD of it to play in my store, but the downloaded one is the same quality as the web video. hd version yet?
Mattraffnix, Not sure if you knew this or not but Taylor Leigh is actually a pro bmxer who decided that this year he would hop onto a 26" wheel bike and show how versitile his skills are. He is a solid rider who deserves the credit he is due. This was a great opportunity for him to showcase his bag of tricks and I must say.. he performed just like I thought he would. GO TAYLOR!
CJwanner, thanks for that information! i wouldnt have guessed it! there doesnt seem to be a lot of media about him anywhere mountain bike related apart from in the film, i think this might be a great opportunity for him, myself. the skills were very versatile as he done a lot of things that only people imagine of. Cheers again.
call me crazy, but this film is only gonna get a "meh" from me. little boring, and to much of the same thing is just to much. great filming, amazing angles, good sound track...but just boring to me, doesn't really bring anything new.
The music was great. Good job Larocque really killed it and Frankie representing ontario! ( london/toronto ) and industry used to ride there, barracks and kinsmen b4 i mooved (n)
yeah I guess it all depends on the person, i found this is one of the few videos i dont have to put on mute and play my i-tunes in the background, so many vid's are basically all heavy rock which is not for me. also love the the toronto locations, something close to home.
