The Monster Energy White Style presented by Kona 2011 is coming closer

With almost no time to spare, Leogang can boast a new title sponsor and is excited to have joined forces with Monster Energy for the snow event. Just in time for Christmas, POC, Tony Hawk Shred (Activision) and One Big Park also confirmed their support in addition to the already committed sponsors. Further confirmations also came from the riders, which means the riders’ list is almost final! The international participants are already looking forward to the evening of January 28th, when they swap their usual dirt jumps for gigantic obstacles made of snow. Just as he did for the last White Style, Grant “Chopper” Fielder is designing a course without comparison anywhere in the world.

Overall, 20 riders from different nations get the most out of the course in the snow. After his Victory in 2010, Sam Pilgrim will definitely be part of the action again. Cameron Zink, the first winner of the FMB World Tour is also planning to cross the big pond to come to Leogang. The Swedish rider Martin Soderstrom celebrated one victory after another last year; so naturally, he wants to start 2011 with a big bang. In addition to the FMB World Champion Cameron Zink, Jamie Goldman and Graham Agassiz are representing the North American continent and crossing half the globe to compete with the European riders. Here is the preliminary riders’ list:

Kona Clump team rider Grant Fielder is already putting together the exact course layout and planning to outdo last year’s course: “The riders will probably start from the igloo again, followed by several highlights that already ensured the best tricks in 2010. I know from my own experience that you need lots of air time for the sickest tricks!” At the last White Style, Sam Pilgrim blew the audience away with a front flip x-up one foot – we’ll have to see what tricks the obstacles make possible at the next White Style.

The riders can qualify for the finals early Friday evening from 4:30pm with two runs. During the finals, the Welle1 party will keep everyone warm with some hot tunes. And of you’re still cold, just warm up with some spiced wine! After 8:30pm, 12 finalists will get the opportunity to secure part of the prize money in two runs. At 10pm then it’s time for the legendary after contest party at the Kralleralm.

The Bikepark Leogang, Monster Energy, One Big Park, POC, CamelBak, Tony Hawk Shred (Activision) and Kona are looking forward to present you lots of sick mountain bike action, awesome tricks and a legendary party. You definitely shouldn’t miss this opportunity to enjoy some pure slopestyle action in the middle of winter!

it's a european event so it's normal that there are more euro riders than north american ones. i guess there were less than 10 european riders at Crankworx col/whistler, claymore challenge, at's showdown, rampage ect. all together

I wonder what it's like landing on snow that's compacted that much.
  • 3 2
Do you think falling on that snow is the same as falling on dirt?
  • 2 1
 Yes
  • 1 0
maybe...i dont know how packed it is, but even super hard snow is nicer then firm dirt...less little rocks and stuff to get cut on too...and it is more slippary so when you land you slide and dont stop so fast...
  • 1 0
ya but it hurts like hell to fall on ur ass on the hard packed snow
  • 3 0
