Welcome to the Willingen World Cup DH #3-Germany 2006

I must say that I have mixed feelings about this course. I’ve heard it described as a BMX track on steroids. Big gaps, man made and oddly placed boulders and more jumps. Please don’t take this as being negative. It is just a very unnatural DH course. And with that being said, racers at this level (myself included) should be able to deal with whatever is presented to them.

I have been impressed with the top dudes and their ability to send it on demand. In training this morning there were about 20 of us scoping a section and watching other riders pass through it. Out of nowhere it looked like the Road Runner flying through the woods, but it was just Cedric Gracia. CG sent it over the whole section that most people were riding through, styling a near perfect flatty. Hats off CG.

Tonight is the 4X, followed by a showing of ROAM. I’m very excited about both. The 4X course is awesome. This should be a great race. It has big airs and multiple passing sections. Good, technical, and fun for the spectators. I am also pumped about the ROAM presentation. Life on the road has made me one of the few people on the planet who hasn’t had the pleasure of viewing it. I hear it’s great.

Stay tuned for more action from this weekend’s race.
