Can you remember the World Cup Course in Hafjell? The versatile course belongs to the Bikepark Hafjell, who really deserves the name “Whistler of Europe”. Right next to the cute town Lillehammer, the venue of the Olympic Games 1994, the bike park is located in the middle of Noways green heart.
The park, as well as the World Cup Course, have something to offer for every Gravity addict. Flowy berms ensure a proper contact pressure, well build jumps allow a proper flying, thick roots require a clean line selection and fat stone fields test the suspension thoroughly. From easy to difficult there is something for everyone!
What Sascha Bamberg aka Bam Hill has completely forgotten is the park opens its doors only from Thursday to Sunday. From Monday to Wednesday, the gondola will remain, so that the Shaper-Crew can take care for all the tracks! Fortunately, Sascha has his Pivot Firebird thereby and thus no problem to pedal the mountain by his own power.
Finally, at the top of the hill, and finally rolled out of the starting gate, the track starts with 4 big, but very well built jumps
Time to whip the adrenaline to a reasonable level.
Then the motto is "brakes wide open" and with full throttle through the first and second rock garden.
After the technical part, you will go to "Expressen", one for the bike park tracks, which makes its name full honor. Entering Fast, with full gas through the berms and exiting fast again – the perfect breakfast for Sascha and the Firebird.
After a short and fast nap, rabolstien is testing your suspension.
But even here, the Firebird knows how to handle it, only the line should fit to get smooth and fast through the Stone-Sea.
Before the technical part continues, taxi forest calls – short and briefly it goes through the steep part until a tight right corner throws you out again.
If you are longing for the end, you again have to properly hold your handlebar and find a clean line through the Rockgarden.
As you could saw in the World Champs 2014, people and machines are tested to the maximum short before the finish.
In addition to the beautiful nature, the sunsets are not to be underestimated. Almost every evening, even if you have to wait a little longer for them in Norway's summer, the sky offers a breathtaking spectacle.
