Nominate Alberta's Best!

The 2008 Season is in the books…and we’re back yet again to honour those riders, racers and builders who really deserve it. We saw a little bit of everything during ‘08- from a late start thanks to Mother Nature, the end of an Era with the last Psychosis Race, a few broken collarbones, ankles and such, some new trails being built and old ones being revived in addition to local races and trail days that saw great turn outs and plenty of support. It seemed as though no matter what was going on in this crazy world of ours- people rode the heck out of their bikes!

For the 2009 Alberta Freeride Awards, we are changing things up a bit…the entire affair will happen online- from the nominations, to the voting and finally the results!Nominations:
Nomination polls opened on Thursday January 15th, 2009 and run until Saturday February 28th, 2009. During this time anyone can nominate riders, racers and trail builders from across all of Alberta in 13 categories.

Once the nomination period is complete we strongly encourage all nominees to upload pictures of themselves riding for the voters to check out.


Final Voting:
Voting will being on Sunday March 1st, 2009 and run until midnight on Tuesday March 31st.

The Winners :
The winners for the 2009 Alberta Freeride Awards will be revealed online on Saturday April 4th, 2009.

We’re going to be giving away 15 prize packs randomly to people who have either nominated or voted for riders.

What are the AFAs all about?
The goal of the Alberta Freeride Awards is to increase the exposure of our sport and our athletes. We want to showcase the abilities and talents that are being produced locally. By nominating your favourite local riders you are supporting the local scene and helping our freeride community grow throughout Alberta!
