bigquotesBend, Oregon has a special place in my heart. Having had the opportunity to ride many of the classic local spots, as well as the surrounding freeride zones many miles away, my friends over my visits have most definitely provided me with the best tour I could ask for and I will always look forward to coming back. The amount of Mountain Biking trails, enthusiasts, and talent that exists in the area is incredible as it stands and is quickly expanding.

As the local lift access park Mt. Bachelor continues to build new trails, and local groms to the likes of Ryan McNulty and Jacob Guthrie continue to spend countless hours in the woods the scene in Bend is on track to continue thriving. Last week, during an evening session at ‘Slalom’ at Phil’s Trailhead I decided to take my helmet off and grab my camera in an attempt to capture the Bend scene that has inspired me over the past months. I hope you enjoy…

 That was rad!

And ya know what- I’m heading to bend in a few hours today, and now I’ll be bringing the DJ bike as well! Thanks for posting this.

Dirt Jumping eludes me. Riders make it look so graceful and deceptively easy, but it’s not. Downhill on the other hand, looks hard, and lives up to its looks.

Any intel on the freeride areas in Bend? Headed out there again this summer and was hoping to find something more... challenging than Phil's area.

Bend has rad dirtjumps but other than Kline Butte (bigger bike jumps/ proper dh) there isn't much outside the xc/enduro trails that are at least public. I'm sure some of the locals have secret shuttle spots but given everyone and their grandma is super into mtb you'd have to keep things quiet. Bend locals- if I'm missing something big here let me know, I pretty much only ride private dh tracks or my hardtail on the regular Oakridge trails outside Eugene and would love to find more a couple hours east.

Oakridge is amazing, but the only remotely challenging trail there is Eula ridge, which you luckily can mostly shuttle but still want a mid travel for. Everything is long sidecut trails that have been hiking trails historically. If you're looking for technically challenging trails in the DH flavor I would just go to Washington. Oregon is mostly flowey epic rides right now aside from the secret stuff. Bring a 160mm bike or less and you'll have a blast.
