Answers to Questions From Round 3 of Enduro Fantasy Trivia

Dec 14, 2020
by Pinkbike Staff

While the Enduro World Series were on pause and the world's top enduro racers were stuck at home waiting for the series to get back underway, we were glued to athletes' social feeds, rewatching event highlight videos, and rereading old tech articles... and now that the short but intense season of racing is over, we're back to doing the same thing. To put all that Enduro World Series knowledge to use, we ran a couple more rounds of Fantasy Enduro Trivia while we recovered from a topsy turvy season.

Stay tuned for the prize winners from this final round to be announced tomorrow!

I thought I had a chance with this one! Ah well, there's always next time

Same here, proved my "Easiest trivia ever" comment for sure

Small corrections: EWZ Zermat doesn't count for the overall because an event must have a minimum of two complete Special Stages in order for the result to be deemed valid for the Global or (if applicable) Series ranking (0.6.8 Results). Nevertheless Estelle Charles would be the third.

• Melanie Pugin (1030)
• Morgane Charre (920)
• Estelle Charles (795)

EWZ Zermat had two stages, neither of which was at their full length (video HERE).

• Rock N Roll start lowered to Grunsee.
• After Work finish will be one corner earlier (ca. 30m).

 Same 15/15

Crossing my fingers, max 169 people got all of them, but probably less
  • 3 0
@dolores: did you get all of them right?
  • 1 0
I guessed on everything and it shows lol

Stefan Peter was ranked 52nd in Zermatt. That means that some Pinkbike Fantasy players are 9 points down on their overall score. For example, @svenstrom should have 3641 points instead of 3632 points.

Thanks Dolores. You posted this right before I made my comment below.

It looks like we accidentally had two rider profiles for Stefan Peter and awarded points to one profile so a couple people missed 9 points. I'll see if we can rerun the points from that round if it comes down to that many points for the prize!

I'm really disappointed. the question about jesse’s bike Originally read chainstay not Seat Stay. The question about the podium procedures is also wrong. the correct answer is one meter as can be seen in the official EWS documents. Specifically page 7 of this document. admin.enduroworldseries.com/uploads/documents/races/1600238522.pdf

I'm not the only one thinking that? ok I'm not crazy Big Grin (yeah yeah not mutually exclusive I know)

 @mtbikeaddict:
This link
open 'schedule and race documents'. Then you see the exact name of the document they were referring to in the question.
  • 1 0
We thought we changed that one soon enough, but obviously not. We won't include it for the final points.
  • 4 0
Thank you! I specifically remember reading "Chainstay" and thought those tricky buggers are trying to outwit us. Those of us who answered "Nothing" technically got it correct.

 @Johanvdb:

"According to the 2020 Pietra Ligure Covid 19 EWS procedures"

here www.enduroworldseries.com/ews-general/rules-and-resources

Pietra / Finale Specific EWS / EWS-E COVID Procedures:

"Palco premiazioni Solo 3 atleti premiati ed un addetto alla consegna premi NOTE • Sarà garantito il distanziamento sociale di 1 metro tra le persone. "

I did answer 2m as I figured it was the required answer, but it's dubious.

No idea why the link doesn't work but it's under EWS Rules page

According to the 2020 Pietra Ligure Covid 19 EWS procedures, how far apart did racers have to stand apart on the podiums?

» Vittoria EWS Pietra Ligure
» Schedule & Race Documents
» COVID19 EWS Procedures (16th Sep 2020)

1,2,3 Podium steps must be placed 2m apart

on the other hand

» Rules and Resources
» Pietra / Finale Specific EWS / EWS-E COVID Procedures

Sarà garantito il distanziamento sociale di 1 metro tra le persone Madder

Taking as a reference Adrien Dailly, who is 1.68m tall (without disrespecting him), they were following the 1m distance protocol IMAGE HERE Camera
  • 1 0
@dolores: im quite sure the question referenced a specific race protocol, not the generic one, for which 1m should be correct
  • 2 1
Well crap. Computed the womens top 7 or so to make sure I had the answer right... but accidentally used the mens points table (400 vs 375 for 4th) so got 1045 for Estelle and picked Pugin. Facepalm

Also, pinkbike... you said "According to the 2020 Pietra Ligure Covid 19 EWS procedures" but then pulled from the generic EWS procedures instead of the specific Pietra Ligure amendment.
  • 1 0
The Pietra Ligure regulations, according to my best translation, state 1 meter.
  • 1 0
We've pulled from the EWS procedures, not the event protocols, all in the question wording!
  • 1 0
@sarahmoore: I've answered 2m as from photos of podium that's what really happened but it depends mostly where you arrive from...the PDFs aren't named. From race documents page the Italian is referred as protocol, but from Rules page www.enduroworldseries.com/ews-general/rules-and-resources the Italian version is clearly named "Specific EWS / EWS-E COVID Procedures"
  • 2 0
@sarahmoore: I'm sorry for complaining so much, but the question specifically read the Pietra Ligure Covid-19 procedures, for podiums. You have posted the generic rules for all ews events, and have referenced the stage starts in the image posted, not the podium. The specific Pietra Ligure doc reads 1m for podiums.
