This Saturday, February 3rd, the Kona White Style contest will take place in Leogang, Austria. The course is already being shaped, the list of riders is set and the long awaited snow fell at the last minute. Opus Bicycles has signed Canadian Olympian Kiara Bisaro to a multi-year agreement to coincide with the launch of its new mountain-bike program.

VANCOUVER - Mountain bike trails in the Sea to Sky region generated $10.3 million in visitor spending this summer and there is room for further development, according to a study conducted by the Western Canada Mountain Bike Tourism Association (MBTA) in partnership with the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA). That figure jumps to $38 million when the Whistler Bike Park and Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival are included in the analysis.

Wow where do I start, I first met Tyler Morland on the race scene in British Columbia a few years ago while he was touring around with some of his good buddies on Team Evolve. I had known of him prior to that for being the guy that was showing up at Mt.7 for Psychosis with a group of buddies out of Whistler to take the money away from the locals. But it was at the races that we started chatting and eventually became friends. I think this may be a trend in how Tyler has met and made a lot of friends over the years.

Speaking of his friends, they are the people that helped me the most with this interview. I went to the folks that really know him and we came up with the goods that you the readers at Pinkbike.com really want to know.

Drop In New Zealand - Episode 4

Episode 4 – Queenstown / Wanaka It was up to the main Dream Track Line featured in New World Disorder 6 for the stuff the crew came to NZ for. Emergency rooms of the world prepare – there will be a steady flow of 38yr. olds thinking they can flow massive moto size jumps like Randy Spangler after they watch this. After more fun in Q-Town with (tongue-in-cheek) "Extreme Day" it was off down the road in search of more adventure. Great times still ahead!

In his first race officially as an elite category rider, Sam Blenkinsop of Wanganui has taken the first round of the New Zealand National Downhill Series today, at Wanaka.

On the eve of announcing his new pro-team deal for the 2007 World Cup season, which kicks off in May, Blenkinsop has had an emphatic pair of results in both the seeding run and the finals, ahead of some well know international pros such as Fabien Pedemanaud (FRA), Justin Havukainen (AUS) and 2006 Junior World Champion Cameron Cole.

Gutsy downhill mountain biker Scarlett Hagen will host a two-day mountain biking training camp at Coronet Peak next week.

The former World Junior Downhill Mountain Bike champion will lead a program targeting 13-16 year old intermediate to advanced level mountain bikers.
