Devinci Bikes - 100% Canadian - Factory Tour Part Devinci Bikes - 100% Canadian - Factory Tour Part 1
Devinci manufactures a lot of bikes in their factory in Chicoutimi Quebec and myself and Ambrose were there to learn about the whole process that happens from concept in CAD to boxed bike on its way to your local bike shop. This is part one of our tour and we'll be looking at the concept process where a bike is created on the designer's computer, then to prototyping it, testing prototypes in the test bench area as well as information on Devinci's instrumented bike that they created to gather valuable information for creating the best bikes they can. We'll also be going for a lunch time ride with a bunch of the employees as they enjoy the great XC trails just outside the factory door.

Premium Products Slim Pedals - Review Premium Products Slim Pedals - Review
Through your family you inherit a lot of things. Car's, homes, debts, genes, but the one thing us as men need most you can not inherit, the 'family jewels'. If you don't understand this saying in due time you will, but for us that understand it you know what I am talking about. Nothing is more of a flow breaker than getting a swift whack to your family jewels. Not only that, but it's a very uncomfortable lesson to learn.

But how do we avoid, or prevent this situation as well as we can? In this review we will cover a few of the main contributors to the pain we refer to as "sacking", and ways to prevent this painful lesson like running a set of good grippy pedals.

Thunder Bay is all about the kids...bring your bik Thunder Bay is all about the kids...bring your bike!
The City of Thunder Bay, Ontario has seen a lot of hardship over the past few years, with over 20 000 people employed in the forestry industry having lost their jobs in the region. For a long time, people here were feeling pretty down, and a large number moved to seek employment in the Promised-land of Alberta and the West. Recently, however, things have begun to take turns for the better, as a shift from a resource based economy to a knowledge based one has resulted in many new technology and medical firms setting up shop in the area. Because of this, the City has taken on a new vision and is looking to attract younger, professional types and their children, as well as retain the youth already living here by giving them more options with regards to recreation and employment...

These days were usually Saturdays. We would dedicate these days to DHing because we had to get ready for our up coming test, the Megavalanche.

Cycle Show at Earls Court in London. Cycle Show at Earls Court in London.
Down to the big smoke it is Dick, where the streets are paved with Gold. I hate London, it’s dirty, smelly, congested, over populated and everyone is too busy to be polite.

So why go, the Olympics aren't for another four years? The Cycle Show 2008 of course!

Red Bull Rampage 2008 - The Evolution - Day Two Red Bull Rampage 2008 - The Evolution - Day Two
More digging and a bike check with Graham Agassiz.

Day two started out with us arriving on site around nine o'clock. The weather had changed and the sunny skies had been exchanged for clouds and wind. The cooler temperatures were much appreciated though. As we hiked up the course to work on the line we had started the previous day, it struck me that the contest was tomorrow and we had hardly even come close to finishing what we had started...

Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab: The Galactic Championship Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab: The Galactic Championships
News Source: Granny Gear
The 2008 mountain bike endurance season reaches its climax October 11-12 with the final of the Suzuki 24 Hour National Point Series, the Galactic Championships, held at the legendary venue of Moab, Utah. Race organizer Laird Knight found this title fitting partly because of the frequent UFO sightings at Behind the Rocks near Moab; the massive turnout for the event; the fact that the event is longer established and the field stronger than any other 24-hour mountain bike race this year - including those that call themselves world championships; and because it has drawn the strongest riders on the 24 Hour circuit.

We were able to wrangle up Dakine team riders Geoff Gulevich and Emily Johnston for a fashion photo shoot at the indoor show.

Rampage Day 1 - Digging and two bike checks with R Rampage Day 1 - Digging and two bike checks with Rampage new comers.
Source: Ross Measures

I just got back from the first day at Red Bull Rampage: Evolution, needless to say, it's jaw dropping. There are lines flowing everywhere, starting high above on two ridges aimed towards a central gully, with drops, steeps, loose corners and billy goat lines along the way. When all the riders got here this morning the lower half of the course had quite a few lines already sculpted out for them by Big Red Ted and his crew of Kenny, Adam and a few others.

Rocky Mountain bikes have re-introduced the Altitude for 2009 and it is replacing the long running ETSX series from them. They have classified the Altitude as XC / Marathon, but after talking with Simmons and going for a ride with Andreas Hestler, I say that this is one heck of an All Mountain machine.
