One of the best things about journalism is the license it gives those who practice it. Journalists, mountain bike or otherwise, rely on contacts. Basically we are free to call up whoever we want in the name of “journalism.” In fact, usually the more people we contact the better our story will be.
In this case I used my license to get in touch with Darcy Wittenburg
, one of the creative minds behind the Collective
. I wanted to get in touch with Darcy in September after a trip to Whistler, but he was on his honeymoon and traveling in Europe. After emailing back and forth for over a month I finally got to talk with him in November. I offer it to you, Mountain Bike Nation.
