We’re baaaacck! Freeride Dawgs is back for another year of the bone crushing, rim breaking, steep and nasty Arduum Challenge DH. Come see what all the fuss is about.

Maintenance after the nasty winter has begun and the course will be changed a wee bit as we can’t have you guys knowing it from year to year. Planning is well underway and we have one hell of a list of sponsors for this year.

In addition to arguably one of the toughest, steepest and technically challenging BC Cup DH races in the province we have added a little twist to training runs. If you have a Freelap (www.freelapcanada.com) watch, then make sure to bring it as we will be breaking the course up into sections and posting the fastest training times per section. Since we are going through the effort of breaking the course up into sections we thought how much more work would be involved in giving away cash and prizes for training. Huh??? Cash and prizes for training? Yep, that’s what we are gonna do. Since we started this little race called the “Arduum Challenge (www.arduumchallenge.com)” we have tried to do new and innovative things with course videos, topographical maps, topographical profiles, lots and lots of pictures and this year we figured we will make training a little more interesting with the “Freelap Training Run” Challenge.

That being said, Freeride Dawgs recommends you grab your Transition Blindside (www.transitionbikes.com) , your 661 protective gear(www.sixsixonecanada.com), your SPY goggles(www.spyoptic.com), your Sombrio riding kit (www.sombriocartel.com), make sure you throw some NitroLube (www.nitrolube.com) on your chain, put on some new Maxxis Tires (www.maxxis.com), put the Soggy Dog (www.soggydog.ca/sd) in the truck, grab an XS energy drink (www.xsblast.com) and the Muddbunnie (www.muddbunnies.com) girlfriend and get your ass out to Mission (www.arduumchallenge.com) or you will be pissed when you read all about how much fun you missed on www.pinkbike.com. Of course, if you are missing any of the above listed items contact Experience Cycling Maple Ridge (www.experiencecycling.ca), the Bike Brewery (www.bikebrewery.com), Dunbar Cycles (www.dunbarcycles.com), Cove Bikes (www.covebike.com) or one of them directly and I am sure they will help you out.

Again, we recommend this setup but we welcome you to our race no matter what gear you use.

This year, Freeride Dawgs has committed that if there are any profits made from the race they will be donated to the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Assoc (www.fvmba.com) for all the volunteer efforts they put in. We also highly recommend that all racers/riders get involved with their local trail advocacy group and better your own riding community.

freelap is a cool concept for training. i wonder if there will be any consequences due to 'inspecting racers' versus 'racing inspectors' on the course. i am excited about the concept of testing sections on the course for line choice etc. but any kind of 'race' scenario while inspection takes place seems risky. looking forward to wearing my helmet at all times during inspection this year! yeah arduum challenge!!!

The rules for the Freelap training are on our site. www.arduumchallenge.com The Freelap posts are at pretty much every race anyway, the only difference this time is that there will be prizes for times. The rules say many times, it is ONLY TRAINING and should be used as such. It is hopefully going to help with the flow of people on the course and allow more top to bottoms for people.

i am stoked to see it in action! yeah arduum challenge!

ps: im sure you have all your ducks in a row as usual.
very pro the way you handled morlands ribbings by the way, even with our wound induced bar tab i don't think we blew $300 all weekend (mind you camping at the fish hatchery was a bad idea!)
looking forward to more broken wheels and steep racing!

Freelaping the section is a really good idea and riders will have a chance to see where they need to improve before race runs.

I hope Tyler Morland comes out and stays to race this year, I hope he brings a full entourage. Of course we would let him/them enter, he and his crew are a hell of a group of riders/racers and I would love to see them rip the course a new one.

*To Tyler Morland, if you do plan on attending fire me off an email greg@freeridedawgs.com and I can let you know how things are expected to be different this year.*
