New venue offers better trails, fresher pavement, more amenities and expanded exhibit opportunities

LAGUNA BEACH, CA-- Building on the momentum and growing popularity of its OutDoor Demo, Interbike today announced a change in venue for the hands-on cycling event. Slated for October 11th, 2003, the Interbike OutDoor Demo will be hosted in Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, Nevada - located 23 miles southeast of Las Vegas and overlooking Lake Mead.Held one day prior to the opening of the expo, the OutDoor Demo provides retailers and media a chance to test the latest in bikes and cycling equipment. As the event has grown in popularity to 115 exhibitors and over 4000 attendees, Interbike organizers chose to relocate the event that, since 1998, has been held in nearby Blue Diamond, Nevada.

"In order to have an event that better embraces the entire industry, we felt it was time to relocate to a more appropriate venue," said Lance Camisasca, Interbike Show Director.

In considering relocating the OutDoor Demo, Interbike organizers ultimately felt the infrastructure of Boulder City better supports the event and the direction it's taking, while offering attendees a venue that encompasses more aspects of the industry and its products.

"The layout of Bootleg Canyon allows us to have an expanded exhibit area with more resources and better facilities at our fingertips. Bootleg Canyon offers an extensive network of mountain bike trails and there is a freshly paved road loop that will be closed to vehicular traffic. The site also offers riding opportunities in and around the exhibit area that are more suitable to the BMX, comfort, recumbent and other product categories," said Camisasca.

Bootleg Canyon is also home to a designated IMBA Epic trail and is an area that has quickly become the epicenter of the Nevada riding scene.

"Boulder City is more conducive to an event of this magnitude. Beyond the great riding, the town offers more amenities like hotels, numerous restaurants, a grocery market, a hardware store, and anything else that an exhibitor may need at their disposal," concluded Camisasca.

Held once a year, Interbike is North America's largest cycling trade show, attracting over 20,000 attendees from around the world. Prior to the show, Interbike hosts a one-day OutDoor Demo allowing retailers and media a chance to test the latest in bikes and cycling equipment. The next chance to see the future of the bicycle industry will be at Interbike in Las Vegas, Nevada October 11-14, 2003.
