Production and editing is at the halfway point for what will be the breakout film of the year, "The New Deal" This is the first of two teasers, the second will be released in December.Eastern Front is announcing the February 2004 release of their newest 16mm, 8mm, and Digital film. It is going to be a radical departure from what those in the mountain bike industry have been used to seeing. Everything from the soundtrack to the editing has been carefully chosen to produce a film unlike any other.

The soundtrack features such artists as: Jay Z, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, RX Bandits, Lyricson, Rise Against, The Postal Service, and Jack Johnson.

Unlike other mountain bike films, there is a heavy emphasis on editing and visual graphics. The goal among producers and editors of The New Deal was to create the sickest finished product possible, both from a visual perspective and a riding perspective.

Another goal was to include riders and locations that have yet to gain adequate coverage, while at the same time bringing you full segments from established pros.

Partial rider list includes: Kirt Voreis, Grant Breshears, Mike Metzger, The DMR team/UK trail scene, Andrew Davies, Anson Wellington, Chris Duncan, Chris Donahue, Nigel Quarless, and Cameron Zink.

Shot on location in Whistler, B.C., Asheville, NC, London, UK, Brooklyn, NY, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, Vail, Co, Vancouver BC and Geneva, Switzerland.

This won’t be a film full of competition segments and montages, its full rider segments and interviews. Director Ryan Denehy takes you behind the sport, and into the minds of the riders to see what really makes them do what they do. Viewers can expect to see a film that combines the styles of the surf film Thicker than Water, and the snowboard film Lame. A new era of mountain bike films has arrived. It is…The New Deal.
