Air McCaul – Interbike Outdoor Demo 2004

In the cool of the evening and the warmth of the desert twilight background, filmmaker Tony “Milkman” shooting for DropIn T.V. set off to capture Trek sponsored rider Cam McCaul at the dirt jumps in Bootleg Canyon outside Boulder City, Nevada on day two of the Interbike Outdoor Demo. I thought it the perfect opportunity to shoot stills of Cam, and as it turned out his younger brother, Tyler McCaul.Built by hand and machine by the local riders, the Bootleg Canyon booters were the perfect playground for Cam and Tyler to show off their aerial confidence. Each trip off the lip wound up in a different routine.


“What do ya wanna see next? How about an old fashioned superman?”, Cam casually asked Milkman. After leaving the lip of the take-off he immediately set into superman form, and finished off with a perfect starched-collar rendition before getting ready to touch down.


Lying in the dirt at the bottom of the transition I shot image after image of the Air McCaul Show until the impending darkness shut us down.
