Looking for an easy way to make your Hayes brakes more comfortable and easier to modulate? Hayes Brakes has introduced a new replacement lever set for both the HFX and HFX-MAG series brakes.

To find out how they have improved them read on......

The new Hayes Big Fat Levers are beefy and strong. With a black anodized finish and laser etched graphics to go along with a new more comfortable design.

Wondering how a set of levers could make my brakes work better I ran out to my garage and proceeded to install them. Once I had one of my stock levers off I compared the two.The first thing noticed is the new levers are lighter than the old ones (not a bad thing).Next thing found by comparing the two was the new ones are taller, the most important difference I found however was the new levers shape.

Once installed I could tell right away they perform better. The new height made them easier and more comfortable to "onefinger" the lever than my old ones did. It wasn't untill I got out to the local bike park for a ride in the snow that the new bend showed its' benefit. With the new shape they sit back closer to the bars and the pull feels much more natural than the older design. These levers just felt more comfortable, the new shape made them feel more linear and easy to modulate as I rode down the icy hills. If you have Hayes brakes, and you need or want to replace the levers, the B.F.L levers from Hayes are a good choice.

Do not buy this product and be very careful of any other thin edge brake levers. This lever impaled my leg when I crashed. Went into the muscle and I'm on crutches and off work till I can walk. It high time manufacturers of these products fitted balls to the lever ends as motor bike brake levers do.

can't even image what the hell you'd have to do to impale your leg with a lever. Good luck healing up.
