If your like most mountain bikers you have unused bike gear laying around in your bedroom or basement. Today’s cost of new gear and equipment for you or your growing family is always on the rise. The challenge is how to cut cost and get great deals on new or slightly used biking gear. The OUTLOOK Mountain Bike Gear Swap is the answer, it will bring buyers and sellers together to swap quality used bikes and gear on Saturday May 28 at the Lynn Valley Centre, 1199 Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver from 1:00pm- 5:00pm.Similar to a ski and snowboard swap, the OUTLOOK Mountain Bike Gear Swap will be consigning quality mountain bike equipment and clothing in clean, working condition with the net proceeds going to the North Shore Mountain Bike Events Society to assist with programs for responsible and sustainable mountain biking. Last years events from the NSMBES raised over 20,000.00 towards a legacy for mountain biking!

This year’s event will feature the gear swap, mtn. bike expo, merchandise booths and mountain bike demos from local riders. Sellers can bring their bikes, frames, forks, wheels and other bike equipment and accessories along with any tools, safety equipment, components and biking clothing to the Gear Drop Off at Lynn Valley Centre on the following days and times:

Wednesday, May 25 from 3:00pm-6:00pm
Thursday, May 26 from 3:00pm-9:00pm
Friday, May 27 from 3:00pm-9:00pm
Saturday, May 28 8:00am-11:00am

Gear will be accepted for drop off on the morning of the Swap from 8:00am-11:00am only, but why wait to the last minute? Get sorting and cleaning your gear now and bring it in early to be sure of your sale! Sellers can set their prices and volunteer staff will be on hand to help you.

A $2.00 non-refundable registration fee will be charged per item and a 15% service charge will apply to all items sold.

Persons selling bikes or frames over $500 will be required to present two pieces of ID, one picture ID and one secondary ID at the time of drop off. Then on sale day it’s time for the buyer to cash in on the deals. The cost to enter the Swap is only $2.00 and this also enters you into a prize draw for some rad items.

The OUTLOOK Mountain Bike Gear Swap is ideal for someone starting out in the sport or people who want to upgrade to a newer bike. Families with children should attend, with all the kids growing this event is also the place to get a larger bike and equipment . This event has equipment for all styles of the sport of mountain biking, from the novice to the pro’s like Andrew Shandro and Wade Simmons, they all had something to sell at the event. All Items can be purchased with cash or debit only.

Following the Gear Swap, sellers can pickup cash or cheque for sold items or unsold gear between 5:00pm-7:00pm. Unclaimed items will be donated to local charities.

Volunteers are needed for various shifts of set-up, item drop-off, pricing, gear sales and organization and clean-up between May25-May29. Join us in supporting the recycling of gear and community involvement at this exciting event. Please visit our site at www.nsmbfc.com to get more information about volunteer opportunities.
