Parksville Pro Jordie Lunn used last Saturday as another oppertunity to hold another one of his stellar training camps, the venue this time, for the first time, was his famous backyard.
The
Iron Horse team rider took 18 students under his wing, and into his home, to teach the kids everything from the basics to Foam Pit 101 with help from Ryder Kasprick, Jarret Lunn and myself. The kids started arriving around 11:45 for the course and after the waivers were signed it was time to get down to business! We started off with warming up over the small sets that Jordie and Brian (Lunn) had made a few days before specifically for the event, once everyone had a chance to get warmed up we started using the bigger jumps and incorperated the foam pit just for fun! At 2:30 the students enjoyed a BBQ Lunch courtesy of Chef Brian!
Once everyone had eaten thier fill we had a "soda shotgun" contest for prizes courtesy of Iron Horse, Gazzalodi, Lizard Skins, and Arrowsmith Mountain Cycle.
After the fun and games it was back to more fun and games on the big sets - complete with a professional sound system so we all had something to jam to!
Overall I was very happy to be a part of the event and highly recommend any of Jordie's courses to everyone from the beginner to the local pro! If you would like to be a part of the next Jordie Lunn Bike Camp keep a close eye for the sign up sheet at
Arrowsmith Mountain Cycle!
