Missy Giove finally found her form this season and took top honors in the women's DH finishing nearly 8 seconds ahead of second place Lisa Sher. Rounding out the women's podium was Tracey Moseley, Kathy Pruitt and Sabrina Jonnier. On the men's side, it was Chris Kovarik; recently recovered from a broken thumb, rib and bruised kidney besting the field by more than 3 seconds. Kirt Vories, John Waddell, Nathan Rankin and Canada's very own Dustin Adams also found a spot in the limelight. In related DH news, Dustin's Giant teammate, Myles Rockwell announced he'll be retiring at the end of this season. In the 4X, practise took it's toll on top riders starting with series leader, Tara Llanes crashing hard in practise on the final double with a fractured collarbone. Brian Lopes went down snapping a chain out of the start gate. Lopes was able to shake off the cobwebs and advanced into the semis where he was taken out by local rider Ross Milian in a controversial pass allowing Rich Houseman and eventual winner Eric Carter to continue into the finals. In the other semi, it was Wade Bootes and Brian Schmith beating top qualifier Mike King and BMX crossover Thomas Allier. to advance. In the final round, Carter lead from the gate after a poor start by Bootes. Bootes was able to regain composure and passed a hard charging Houseman. Schmith crashed in the final doubles and allowed Bootes to take second spot followed closely by Houseman. With Llanes out, Sabrina Jonnier took top honors in the women's field followed by Tai-Lee Muxlow, Katrina Miller and Melissa Buhl. Jonnier's win ties her for the overall 4X series lead with Miller with just one race remaining.
