BC Road Trip 2017

A friend of mine moved to BC last August to ride his bike and powder planks. This was the perfect chance to finally go ride on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. Usually, there is no snow in March they said - not this year. Rain, snow and cold weather was what we got. And a lot of good rides!

Victoria a city, located on Vancouver Island. Confusing because Vancouver is also a city, not on Vancouver Island...

Complete stab in the dark here, but if anyone reading this could be of any use to me at all...I fly to vancouver on may 10th alone with my bike on a 1 way ticket with no plan, i like to ride bikes, women, drink beer, make people laugh and drink beer. Come ride with me/show me your country. haha

If I were you I might book a return ticket too, Canadian border control definitely don't like gung ho travellers they turn up on a one way flight Wink

Otherwise check the Whistler Facebook page, full of riders always going on adventurers, there may even be a specific trail riding page!

@PeterT: Peter, go to Galbraith in Bellingham, Vancouver Island (incl. Cumberland...awesome place), then spend some time on the sunshine coast and after all of that, you'll be ready for Mt Seymour and Fromme and then do some valley riding. Finally, ride Squamish on your way to Whistler. When in Whistler, you'll ride in Whistler and Pemberton but wish you'd lived and rode in Squamish.

@MMOF: thanks for the info! Ive heard that people are setting up camp in squamish now more so than whistler? i half plan to turn into a park rat for the summer as it will be so different to riding ive done before and I fully plan to make use of chairlifts as much as I can as itl be a novelty, haha
