The Bearclaw Invitational Slopestyle, one of mountain biking's premiere events, begins one day early on Friday, August 22nd.
“We're starting the first runs for all riders tomorrow night,” explains rider and event founder Darren Berrecloth. “We have a perfect weather window for the next 24 hours to run the first round. If the good weather continues, we will run the second and third runs on Saturday as scheduled.”The decision to run the Slopestyle Friday evening instead of the Free Slalom was made after close examination of Mount Washington's weather forecasting models. Dry conditions are expected to remain until Saturday evening.
This means all of the rider's will get their first runs Friday evening starting at 5:00pm. The second and possibly third runs will continue as scheduled on Saturday at noon. Following the Slopestyle, the Oakley High Air comp will take place beside the huge final drop on the slopestyle course.
