Ben Reid headed home after attending Crankworx for a few weeks in Whistler BC. With a 2 week break on his hands before the last World Cup DH event, he decided to do something special with his trusty Ironhorse Sunday and give it a custom paint job.Check out the process and the results inside
.After we did our Bike Check with Ben
he decided that the old girl was looking a little ridden and wanted to give her a face lift for the final WC DH race of the season. So with a few weeks worth of time on his hands, Ben set down to get the job done on his own. After all Troy Lee was probably busy working on Sam's frame.Strip the old frame and mask it off
:Get out the old spray cans and heat gun and go to town on your design
:When the paint had all dried it was time to build the beauty back up and here is the result of all of Ben's hard work
I asked Ben about his choice in the colors and paint scheme and this is what he had to say about the final product.
"17 is just my overall World Cup standings from last year so that's my number for the season. Yellow and black are the Just Reid
colours and I thought it was about time that she matched in with my van set up. I'm into all things simple and retro."
So as you can see, with a little bit of time and some spray cans Ben was able to create his own custom painted Ironhorse Sunday. She's a beauty Ben! Best of luck at Schlaming this weekend!
