Big Mountain Bike Adventures announces dates and the itinerary for Swiss Bliss, an exclusive, unique all-mountain women’s-only bike adventure in Zermatt, Switzerland.
After a hugely successful experiment in 2007, Big Mountain has scheduled the 2008 Swiss Bliss Women’s Only trip for August 22-29, 2008. The 8-day all-inclusive trip is designed for women of all ages and lifestyles – the only common denominator is that they have to be intermediate to expert riders.Big Mountain guide Nathalie Grether, who led the inaugural 2007 Swiss Bliss Women’s Only trip, describes the trip as an adventure of a lifetime. “I’ve never laughed so much. The trip was only a week but the memories and friendships will last a lifetime.”
“I’ve ridden my mountain bike all over North America and the world,” elaborates Whistler-based Grether, “and Zermatt is my favourite: endless, fast flowy high alpine singletrack and stunning scenery. Plus the Swiss make entire meals of out chocolate and cheese. Doesn’t get much better. Swiss Bliss Women’s Only”, continues Grether, “is a special opportunity for women to experience riding in one of the world’s most spectacular settings in a supportive, relaxed, non-intimidating manner.”
“The trip was way more than what I expected”, concurs Chantal Felten, who participated in the inaugural Women’s Only trip in August 2007. “It was big, challenging, epic, difficult, exhilarating, scary, thrilling, satisfying and more. I loved the camaraderie and energy of a women’s only trip. Never worried about keeping up or holding anyone up.”
Founded in 2002, Big Mountain Bike Adventures offers world class all-mountain, XC and DH mountain bike trips to the Swiss Alps, BC’s Kootenay Rockies, Costa Rica, Morocco, Italy, Peru, Copper Canyon Mexico and Southern Africa.
