Josh Lewis is master of bike sorcery showcased in his 50to01 video segments and has been no stranger to the Enduro World Series either. Recently, Josh joined the Swiss brand, SCOR, and built up their highly versatile 4060ST, 140mm-travel frame with 27.5" wheels for blasting jumps in an upcoming project. Traditionally, SCOR's 4060 ST and LT bikes are dual 29ers, with the ability to run a mixed wheeled setup, but Josh has made some adjustments to compensate for smaller front wheel too.
Switching between the stock ST and LT configurations requires a two key suspension components; a fork and shock travel change. By installing a 170mm fork, altering the shock stroke length from 57.5mm to 62.5, and moving the flip-chip on lower link, 160mm of travel is gained out back on the 4060LT.
You can also tweak the head tube angle on either setup by 1.5 degrees on either the ST or LT by reversing the offset bearing cups. In Josh's case, he's running the 4060 with the shorter travel shock and a 150mm travel 29er fork set to the steeper head tube angle.
All these clowns clamouring for 275 bikes, yet no one buys em, and for some reason they think all hell will happen if they just swap some wheels and such.
Blows.My.Mind, everytime
Thats a strange take, but you do you boss
Why do you find the “bellyaching” over no 27.5 options any more so strange? Why would people who like 27.5 bikes not like them anymore? They’re fun, not obsolete. They ruled the majority of the market till about 5 yrs ago. Still ridden in most ads/edits with the most progressive riding.
What improvements have 29ers brought? Why would someone happy with 27.5 want the reduced versatility (increased weight, size, sluggishness) of a 29’er? It’s not like people were having difficulty ripping in 2017-2018 on their sub-35lb 27.5 bikes. I kind of love jumping, slashing, footplants, and not having a tire in my crack, don’t you?
Now instead of watching riders like Shaums, Bender, Wade, Watson, Thomas, Robbie, Romaniuk, Berrecloth progress what’s possible on a bike, people are interested in watching Ritchie Rude and Jared Graves work out. It’s not a great trajectory imo.
I hope you’ve at least demo’ed other bikes rather than just blindly sitting on what’s “good enough”
Do I have any regrets about getting rid of it? Yes.
That front end will flex all over the place...
It really bothers me brands like trek with the fuel EX Give stuff all stack... so you gotta run heaps of spacers on the already short steerer... theres no winning...
@AirdropBikes is the way. Saving up for mine!
Pressfit bb isn’t a deal breaker but I prefer threaded for ease of home installation / service.
Otherwise it looks great, but why compromise on these things when spending big money and other companies are offering exactly what I want?
I’m generally the exact height most brands say should be on a large, which usually have seat tubes from 420-460. With my seat at my preferred height and a 450 seat tube I can run a 200. With a 465 seat tube I only get 185. More drop is preferable to less drop. This isn’t hard to understand.
If someone is so tall they’re running a 240 dropper at the minimum insertion line on a 450 seat tube, the bike is probably too small for them.
I’m going to stop responding to you because you’re being intentionally obtuse. Enjoy your long seat tubes.
In ST mode, dual 275" wheels, 29" fork at 150mm travel and the..."flip chip in hi BB mode, it lifts the BB by 6mm and closes angle by about 0.4°.
So BB height is 331mm, HT is 65.9°, ST° is 76.9°. reach and stack will slightly change R: 464mm S: 610mm"
Cold day in hell before I ever buy one.
