I know I will get negative props for mentioning this, but why is no one reading the instructions and guidelines for the neck brace? It is potentially fatal to wear without a helmet because if you tripped or fell it acts as a pivot which could result in a fracture in the C section of the vertebrae. Leat and AlpineStars make sure to highlight to remove the brace whilst not wearing a helmet for exactly this purpose...

@willshiels : are you saying that these people are in danger for wearing a neck brace during a photo shoot?
  • 3 0
What he's saying is the brace acts like a pivot point. So if he fell his neck would have even more pressure put down because theres no helmet to push against, Hard to explain.

In theory this is a very real threat. In real life... come on... when I take my helmet off after a run, I don't take off my Leatt brace because I might "trip and fall". And even if i DID trip and fall, the type of fall I would take would NOT break my neck. Sure, I wouldn't ride with a Leatt on with no helmet, or even run down a rocky path that way, but just standing around or walking... I'm confident enough in my skills in that department Smile

BUT REALLY, are they really gonna kill themself during a photo shoot? It's not like they are running around!

intro was too long and the music drove screws into my brain but some good riding there

It is a bit difficult to brake your knec in a photoshooting, but we will remove them next time. thanks

No, leave the neck braces in the photo shoot it looks sick man don't listen to some guy that is over protective. He probably wraps his kids in bubble wrap and doesn't let them use a knife at dinner.
  • 3 1
Bubble wrap? No, no, no, they don't leave the house, they are quite happy in their padded cells with their liquidized food!

Only joking, we aborted it as it's the best measure to protect it from the nasty world!! Seriously I am joking, I am not alowed children or to be near them beccause of some stra... ..... HA!!! KIDDING! You can't be kidding without a kid eh!!!

Seriously though, I was half asleep when I posted and I ment the whole DH & MX industry as a whole are ignoring the guidelines in general. It was just on my mind, think about how many times you see MX riders doing a interview, DH riders in the hot seat, course walking whilst sectioning. I know it's totally anal. But still accidents happen. I'd hate to read a story about Leat going bust because of a privateer racer slipped whilst hopping out of his van and falling, pinching his spinal chord as he hit the ground because it pivoted on the side of his brace... Stranger things have happened.

Well, it is your opinion. I havent took the photo, and i would prefer without the leat everybody, but not for security, just to make the photo looks better.. Sorry for my english, some mistakes in the other post.
