The Bike Park opened Friday, May 22 with 8 of 16 trails open and midsummer conditions on the hill. After two seasons of steady construction alongside Gravity Logic which saw the opening of new beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain, the Trail Crew is focusing their work this summer on fine tuning some of their old favourites. Work is already underway to give Shot Glass a new look, along with the reopening of Squeeker and The Grind.

Blue Mountain is also excited to be welcoming back the East Coast Open Downhill Race, and to get the ball rolling on two new events with the King of the Valley and Fall Showdown Downhill Races. These three races will all be awarding points towards the Ontario Cup Downhill Series. For the amateur racers and weekend warriors, the Tuesday Night Downhill Series will be back once again starting in July.

Can some of the trails be ridden on hardtails? Especially early in the season?
  • 3 1
We do have some riders who choose to ride their hardtail bikes in the park, but it all comes down to personal preference and comfort on your bike. With that said, all bikes must have working front and rear brakes, as well as knobby tires for offroad use.

The trails are fine for a HT. Obviously you'll be slower and traction limited, but it's totally doable. Enjoy.

(just get out of my way!) lol

 why wasnt h20 open?

Unfortunately, the bottom half of H2O needs some extra drainage work and time with the mini excavator after the spring thaw. We're working on a way to get the top half open early, and will keep everyone updated in our Forum Group.
