Megavalanche 2017 is over.

After one week of pure riding with ice and dust, the changing weather had the last word.

Nothing gets us stoked as ripping down an absolutely massive mountain.

 I really don't mean any offence @mrtoodles, but the answer to your question is that you need to go to the Mega to understand.
Finding places to overtake is NOT easy, so if you're at the back, you take any chance you can get.
So much of the race is spent being frustrated by being stuck behind the person in front because the vast majority of the epic length track is narrow single track.
