At 25 years old, Brandon Semenuk has been riding a Trek for 10 years; he's easily the youngest 10-year veteran the bike industry has ever seen. Even more amazing is what Brandon has accomplished in the past decade while with Trek. Let's take a moment to celebrate the past ten years.

Brandon gets a lot of love here on Pinkbike but it's hard to truly appreciate just how remarkable his legacy is while he's still so young. Easily the most innovative and influential rider of the past decade. Also worth noting that he's heavily involved in the filmmaking process with Rupert Walker on all their Revel Co videos. So rad to see their creative vision for the sport! Here's hoping for a follow up to Revel in the Chaos...

 Amen!

i have been trying to find the name of this song for almost a year now, does anyone have a clue?
  • 4 2
Agreed, and he's pretty handy with that little camera he's been carrying around lately too.
  • 5 2
the man himself, this guy is an absolute influence in the mtb world ! BIG
  • 1 0
lol no the song was used in another edit a while ago
  • 1 0
well its about time I wait for these edits for so long
  • 21 7
I always found Revel in the Chaos to be a bit of a misnomer. I don't think there's anything chaotic about Semenuk or his riding. He strikes me as incredibly reflective and calculating. Everything he does seems very intentional and considered.
  • 14 1
@alexsin -- Your comment is a compliment to Brandon; I hope others can see it that way. The fluidity and power of his riding seems to have as much to do with his planning and foresight as it does with his precise physical abilities.
  • 3 0
@alexsin I think it's a good title– this was pretty chaotic, but he owned it: vimeo.com/137086837
  • 3 1
 He's a mountain bike Pilot!
  • 1 0
does anyone know what stem hes running
  • 1 0
 keep it coming!!!
  • 220 3
Am I the only one that wished the video was longer...?
  • 7 2
 Ill second that
  • 88 5
That's a quality that many promo videos are missing... it's always good to leave restaurant a bit hungry than full of crap.
  • 6 3
Nope, you are definitely not the only one. Those three tables are majestic, things of beauty.
  • 11 3
Maybe it was that 10 years on Trek thing that fooled you into thinking you were to see a career retrospective, rather than Brandon doing a few jumps in slow mo.
  • 19 2
I was hoping to see 10 years of brandon.

 Congratulations Brandon!

Ten years and that's all the footage they could come up with?
  • 1 0
that would be so nice dude!
  • 143 3
It would be great to bring back life behind bars
  • 13 1
 second that!
  • 14 0
Third that! LBB was what got me into riding and buying a DJ and even though now I'm saving for the new patrol C I'm glad I got a DJ because it really taught me bike handleing skills! Hopefully it comes back to inspire more riders

I really like Semenuk, he's an absolute star of the genre, and he does it in such a clean cut way - he's like the Vouiloz or Gwinn of the Freeride movement, clean cut, no tattoos, no badass attitude, just a quiet guy that shreds the shit out of trails. Props all day long for this dude.
  • 4 0
If we're talking about similarities to other riders, he reminds me of Wade Simmons. Humble, classy and loads of style!
  • 57 1
Brandon not only is the best in the world, he is such a good guy, he saw a video of our friend Dylan Stark riding his Chumba Wumba DH bike and felt bad for him and sent him one of his Trek frames. I was shocked, ive never heard of any other pro doing some thing that cool for some one in the Community. Keep shredding Brandon, hope to meet you on the trails some day man!
  • 2 1
can we see the video somewhere?
  • 2 0
All the videos are on my profile. Dylan rides pro bmx and at the time was just getting into MTB again. This was around last year. Check out his instagram @Whoisdylan
  • 24 2
An absolute treat to watch this guy ride. Feel's like Christmas morning and I have an awesome gift under the tree.
  • 21 0
Every time I see Semenuk's name on the home page, I stop whatever I'm doing!
  • 16 0
I would give my left nut to casually whip that back end around and drift like Pablo F*ckin Picasso. He can ride a 2 wheeled tricycle in a rock garden more gracefully than I ride my bronson on hero dirt...
  • 11 3
He also has put in about x1000 hours training more than us, plus its actual training- practicing the same thing over and over again, analyzing film, working with other pros, etc. We say we would do anything to be as good as the pros, but they have a work ethic and dedication that you or I could never match.
  • 8 1
Don't forget natural talent. But ya its not all natural talent, they also have to work hard and long.
  • 10 1
 ah did I just say hard and long. Sorry guys. ;facepalm;
  • 1 0
 Well said!
  • 10 1
 A 2 wheeled tricycle.........um........
  • 18 1
Wait, 2006 was 10 years ago?!! I really need to get over that girl I was dating...
  • 14 0
10 yrs, wow. I have socks that old. Frown
  • 12 2
Really is a top rider and the vid was great, hopefully they will release a montage of his best bits over the last 10 yrs (including part of the unreal segment)

when a world's first doesn't quite make the cut, you know you're pretty damn good at what you're doin...

Jesus. Flip whip of the boner log.
  • 3 0
pretty much. the dude's a machine
  • 13 1
 3 Whip to Tuck .. :o
  • 9 0
One of the biggest guys in mountain biking and 99% of Canadians have never heard of him. Our main stream media coverage is garbage.
  • 5 0
Or mtb just isn't big enough to justify mainstream media coverage. I live in Nanaimo, and no one here knows who Steve Smith is either. Even when he was world cup champ our local papers couldn't find a corner to mention that the champion was from here!
  • 12 2
YEAH BRANDON! 10 years with Trek, congrats.
  • 5 0
That 360 table was so clicked!! He's one of, if not the most precise riders I've ever seen ride a bike. His winning run at CW Rotorua was awesome to watch. Stoked to see what the rest of the year holds for him!
  • 17 11
10 years at the top of the game with a huge list of achievements and he gets a 2 min edit in his back yard? Seriously Trek?
  • 4 3
Check out the website at the bottom
  • 30 3
So what you are pretty much saying experhucker is that he got robbed?
  • 5 2
Not his yard. Was filmed in Santa Cruz, California I believe.
  • 3 0
trek keep sponsoring semanuk, he sell more bikes then you think. When i'm looking for a new xc-trail, fat, enduro or DH big i will remember that the claw left specialized and trek kept semanuk for another 10 years, McCaul ...
  • 6 1
I'd like to see some interview vids from back in the day to see his thought progression that came with his riding.
  • 6 0
Trek makes big brands look good. Brandon Semenuk is a ninja, too.
  • 7 2
Admittedly the webpage is pretty cool.
  • 6 1
The trick at the end !!!!!
  • 6 2
haha brandon is the best in world
  • 6 2
semenuks riding is so smooth & so much steeze, pure class!
  • 6 2
One of very few Dirt Jump videos I've enjoyed
  • 5 0
 Song name ??
  • 3 0
Yea, does anyone know? There are two wicked songs in here? @trek @revelco @clayporter
  • 5 0
 Umber-Aether Wink
  • 4 1
The Michael Jordan of free ride/slopestyle. He's so consistent and focussed. Good on him.
  • 1 0
Wow 10 years already and he is only 25! Just saw that he got Soul id 100 recognition (soulid.me/features/athletes/Brandon_Semenuk) dude has been killing it since 2006! I cant wait to see what else he has in store.
  • 3 0
1:19 - is he shredding a cable disc?
  • 1 0
...and then I have seen the pics.
  • 1 0
He has to for the headset set up.
  • 1 1
But there is a hydro gyro on the market. Is it not good enough? (just asking)
  • 1 0
Not dependable enough. Cam McCaul runs a cable gyro too.
  • 3 0
Yepp. Odyssey bmx brake level + oversized bmx rotor upside-down (Snafu Mobeus or stg.) + Sram "BB7 Road" caliper (for shorter pull-length) = light weight, reliability, simplicity.
  • 1 4
I wouldn't be surprised if it's also playing the game. Trickstuff (hydraulic gyro) sponsors slopestyle athletes, so if he'd buy a Trickstuff gyro himself, he pushes himself out of the market for a sponsorship with Trickstuff. Trickstuff won't have to sponsor him anymore if he'd already give them free advertisement.
Since there is actually money involved, I'm guessing you can't sponsor riders like Semenuk just by giving them free parts, you have to pay them money as well to ride your stuff.

Thereby I think he's not only basing his set up on his current sponsors, but also is basing it so that he doesn't push himself out of ther market for potential new sponsorships.
Not necessarily only gyro wise.
  • 3 0
You do know that he is the OG embassador for the hydro-gyro right?
  • 1 1
Then why is he not riding one? Also don't see him on the team riders list on the Trickstuff wbsite.
  • 5 0
Word on the street was Brandon and Cam McCaul stopped riding their trickstuff gyros because they leaked too much and required constant bleeding.
  • 3 0
@Mattin The video was even on Pinkbike on the whole creative process. Still, as samsq said, I guess they were a bit faulty.
  • 1 0
 Makes sense then Smile
  • 3 0
I bet this makes everyone feel old.....10 years? Grats Sem!
  • 3 0
He's gotta be an alien... Right?
  • 4 1
360 barspin barspin back that awesome !!!
  • 3 0
 oppo aswell
  • 2 1
Not really sure how that was a 10 year video. Was a bunch of brand new clips and a 15 second throw back. But still... pretty crazy that he's only 25.
  • 4 2
 Love Brandon Semenuk STYLE !!!
  • 4 2
*Adds to favorites before video starts

  • 4 2
 Wow, what an anti-climactic video.
  • 2 0
Whats so interesting about watching someone play pumped bmx 2? oh wait...
  • 3 0
Oh yeah doesn't anyone try to imitate Semenuk's tricks in the game? I do!
  • 2 0
 whole runs sometimes!
  • 3 1
 too short ...
  • 6 6
His catch on the opening 3 whip to tuck is just awesome. Guy makes me want to be sick on my own penis.
  • 12 2
This comment went From- Normal guy on PB watching vids, maybe go for a ride later. To- Creepy kid in the corner with fangs, not to mention he has a collection of various animal bollocks.
  • 11 1
 That escalated quickly.
  • 5 1
Whoa whoa whoa now, kid? I'm a grown ass man. But you got the rest about right
  • 2 0
 haha don't worry jus kiddin
  • 1 0

  • 2 1
Too much flow for sooo little time Frown
  • 4 3
That 360 double bar spin is so stylish
  • 8 0
you mean that switch 450 bar to bar back?
  • 3 0
 yes, that's what I meant
  • 1 0
Am I wrong but is he running a CABLE rear brake set up?
  • 2 0
Yes. He, McCaul, and Rheeder all run BMX-style cable gyros. The hydraulic ones are fussy and undependable.
  • 1 0
 and anthony messera (cable gyros)
  • 1 0
 STRAIGHT STEEZ'R STEEZ'N !!!!!!!!!! NUFF SAID
  • 1 0
Surely 10 years with Trek deserves more than 2 min, no?
  • 1 0
20 years with Trek gets you a 4.24 length video.
  • 1 0
I would love to see him shred on a Remedy someday. Sick article!
  • 1 0
Why stem Hope ? Brandon not riding for them
  • 2 5
"At 25 years old, Brandon Semenuk has been riding a Trek for 10 years; he's easily the youngest 10-year veteran the bike industry has ever seen."

kyle strait won the sea otter jump comp at 13, and competed in rampage the same year; he was easily a 10-year veteran of the bike industry at 23, two years younger than semenuk
  • 1 0
 Was that an opposite cork-7?
  • 1 0
 nope
  • 1 0
