mmmmm it shows the struggle of postmodernism against the backround of the fragility of the human condition in a world subjected to the projection of separation of nature and conscience.

 now me!

"As we look in a concave mirror, the image
vanishes into infinity and appears again close before us. Just in this way, after self-consciousness has, so
to speak, passed through infinity, the quality of grace will reappear; and this reborn quality will appear
in the greatest purity, a purity that has either no consciousness or consciousness without limit: either the
jointed doll or the god.”

  • - 2
@makripper: Jesus, or whatever the dude was called was the superstar of loonies, got too big following and the establishment whacked him for it in a public execution to send the message. They didn’t understand what will be the repercussions of making such dude into a martyr. His manager namely “Saint” Paul made him what he is today. Jesus wasone of those guys who became more powerful after his desth. Anyone who understands archetypal figures and their function can see it clear. Then according to some historians and art analysts it is highly possible Jesus was tripping his balls off, no wonder he was convincing about talking to God

  • + 7
@gclarida: 1 the fresher the egg, the better it holds its form. 2 cook on low heat gently in lots of butter. The yolk will cook through and be less likely to break when you gently flip it. The underside will still be pure white. Try this and you won't go back to a harshly fried egg.

@makripper: Don't get it twisted I said Soapy but floppy is also totally rad. They kind of go hand in hand ,, or mouth! I'm sorry large breasted women offend you but I loose my mind, real talk I just spent about 15 minutes on some 40DD's.

  • + 6
@makripper: I have to assume you're being intentionally obtuse. Nobody being intellectually honest would suggest that any of my above posts infer that Jesus performed any miracles.

All I said is that Jesus of Nazareth was very likely a real person. Historical evidence of his physical existence is long-established and wide spread.

The very vast majority of theological historians are my sources.

I never once meant to make you feel insulted by questioning the Bible and Jesus. Sorry to hear you are upset about all this. It's also to bad you are giving up. You are disappointing Jesus by giving up.

Did they find Jesus's bones and were they carbon dated and dna tested?

I have so many questions!
  • + 5
@makripper: I did not tell you there was proof. I said there is substantial historical evidence. Those are two different things. Those are two different things. If you prefer to skip doing the research and instead rely on insulting 2.2 billion people based on their religion then yes, you are a bigot.

big·ot·ry
ˈbiɡətrē/ noun intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.

Calling 2.2 billion people cult members is textbook bigotry.

Bigot troll. Done with you now.
  • + 1
 @Session603: evidence = proof
What's the difference between a cult and a religion? Not much. Both breed hate, wars, righteousness, used as a source of power over others and other shit I don't have time for.

I have tolerance. I have not once directly insulted you and your Jesus loving beliefs.

I don't care what people believe as far as religion goes. If they are an a*shole, they are an a*shole.

Furthermore if 2.2 billion people say the earth is flat then I will still not agree with them.

@preach: there is usually evidence needed to convict someone. It's not like you can just say that Jim over there killed a guy and he goes to jail. If you said. Here are his bones. Through dna testing and here is his carpenter belt that we carbon dated cool. That's why I believe Egyptians, Mayans, Inca, etc existed. They left proof. They had. Scriptures, pictures, they left tombs and bones, textiles, tools, you name it. But for in theory the most significant and important person to ever exist has zero physical evidence its mind blowing and painful to comprehend.

  • + 11
I have talked to God on several occasions and this is what made me more spiritual and got me out of religion. That, absence from church rituals and edibles with good people. Full communion with the universe. If you want to teach anyone about Jesus, God, get out of the church for a year and do psychodelics or edibles often, both alone and with friends. Then come back to me. Otherwise you just get bogged in collective consciousness and rituals aimed to keep you in pattern of behaviour. Church keeps you from meeting God.

Like: I was alone in the empty church with my sleeping daughter and the thought came, like a rock falling on my head: what decent father would expect his children to lick his balls by singing songs to him how great he is? That’s one of many realizations I got after detox...

@makripper: It's not religion. It's a relationship with the creator of the universe. He works in ways that we cannot fathom. A day in the eye of God could be thousands of years to us. He has laid before us a way for us to be with Him for all of eternity and that is through Christ. All we have to do is believe.
  • - 1
@Smallbright: so he was cool with Hitler, pol pot, the Armenian genocide, etc? What a shitty creator. Yeah let them all kill eachother. It's fine bro. I'm just gunna watch and eat Doritos and drink some Monster energy. Explain that bullshit. The earth was created 4.3 billion years ago, why doesn't the Bible mention dinosaurs?

  • + 2
 @makripper: how dare you?!
  • + 1
@makripper: It comes down to choice to follow Him or not as I said before. Satan runs rampant in this world. Those guys clearly chose Satan and acted on themselves. I can you promise this, they faced God's perfect wrath and judgement. As for dinosaurs, there is no direct reference to them in the bible. However, it does say the God created all living things. You were asking questions and I am just trying to help you. That is what He calls us to do. I'm not trying to force it on you. It is your choice. I hope that this helps you.
  • - 1
@Smallbright You shall not tell my children what I call you to do, interpreting faul words of interpreters who have studied interpreters before, you follow an ancient path and use ancient tools, you coward, I dare you to find me and face me, not your interpreters, fools who have fallen victim of their self serving interest, picturing themselves as scholars, hungry of power, social elevation and if fortune allows, material riches, bodily desires, all entangled in deception. For if you have met me, and known me, if any of those who told you they know me, you would know than I am your God, your Father, Mother, Jahwe, Allah, Krishna, Satan, I am rock, wind, cess, garbage, pus, venom, grass, animals, everything. There is no other, you cannot follow me, nor you can reject me, you are powerless, temporary aglomeration of atoms. I am the one I am, you are the one you are, I am you, you are me. We are one. Open your soul or stay a fool until you end this experience of your life.

common misconception. There aren’t “translations of translations “ of the Bible. We actually have more than 5000 manuscript dated to within 30 years after Jesus death. We only have 12 of Homers Odyssey. Funny how nobody has a problem with that.
  • + 3
@preach: There's no problem with Homer's Odyssey because 2 billion people don't follow it religiously.

Mind you, a few thousand years ago people did think Zeus was THE god, but they don't anymore. I'm glad you brought that up.

It means i am stupid and wasn't paying attention.

funny the scientific law of causality (which is a law Mind you not a theory) means that everything has to have a cause. Meaning Carl Sagan was not only wrong but an ignoramus. The universe isn’t eternal. It had a cause and therefore a beginning. Funny how atheists run from logic and scientific law and then claim “logic! Science!”
  • - 1
@preach: it had a cause and a beginning. Not many dispute that. What triggered the beginning had to be something beyond what our small minds could comprehend. If some higher power created it and us, they must be bored af because they could be creating much more amazing things than us. Humans are horribly designed and ugly compared to most other animals.
  • + 2
@makripper: wow both unscientific and illogical... 2 for 1
  • + 1
@makripper would love for you to think outside the Tiny box rhat you and your lover @scotttownes have created. You’ll find you live in umpa loompa land
  • - 1
@preach: only Jesus is the logical choice. The one true choice. My bad.
  • + 1
@makripper: although it's not straight forward, one can make a thought experiment that we have no free will. It's a rather strong theory gaining more and more momentum as we research consciousness. I don't mean it's proponents will have the last word, hell no but idea that we do have full control within our capacities is rather wrong. That is exactly because once you start defining capacities and limitations the less "free" there is. There's a lot of nature in the drive towards nurture. Surprise VS expectation. If I just lock myself in my apartment and masturbate my time away for 2 weeks then nothing will happen. But if I do something productive? Hm... well first off: can you actually wank 2 weeks off your life, eating crap food, watchin Netflix whatever? Can you? Then, how can you say how will that influence your way of thinking? Because a control freak might say: oh, it will just get worse once you get on this path. But what if it would be a shock therapy, making you waste less time in the future? The path of excess is the path of wisdom.

Now, a manifestation of free will. I will go to the field at night and pick up cow poop to spread it on my lawn, hopefully finding psylocybins in September...
  • + 2
@WAKIdesigns: simple answer to that, Scott-Townes.
  • + 1
@preach: Never heard of the "law of causality" - there is causality in physics and in philosophy. Which one are you referring to here?
  • - 2
@Lejla: same thing as the scientific law of cause and effect sir
  • + 2
@preach: ... of which you evidently have no understanding.
And I am not a "sir".
  • - 2
 @Lejla: LOL
Spoken like a closed minded person with an a-priori commitment to his pet theories.
Holler when you combine the causality and the second law of of thermodynamics. Because that’s the death of macro-evolution.
  • + 3
@preach: OK, as I said, I am not a sir. Please stop referring to me as a he or a sir. The fact that you haven't picked up on this obvious detail yet is telling.
How about you give *me* a holler when you figure out the difference between laws, theories, causality as it applies to physics, causality as it applies to philosophy, and what 'cause and effect' actually entails. Then you might be able to decide which one of these concepts you're talking about and why you think that something that has a cause *must* be finite.
  • - 2
@Lejla: I have a doctorate. Thanks for your lesson.
  • + 3
@preach: in what? Genuine question. Interested.

In my experience, only those who aren't capable of defending their knowledge/understanding pull the "I have a doctorate" card.
  • + 1
@Lejla: masters of divInity, PHd in history and philosophy of science.

And also. What I find is most people online don’t know what they are talking about and therefore go on name calling and personal attacks.
Because facts can be hard to deal with.
  • + 3
@preach: I respect anyone who pursues higher learning, and with all that due respect, I'm not convinced qualifications in divinity (what the?) history and *philosophy* of science have worked towards your understanding of science and physics.

Personal attacks and name-calling? I know right, calling people close-minded when they question your statements and actually *ask* for facts ... pffft. Stupid online people.
  • - 2
@Lejla: yeah, kinda like when you see someone talking about Jesus and you know immediately feel the need to attack. Why?
I care about people knowing the Truth.
Don’t get riled up when someone can come toe to toe with your ideas. Most atheists can’t handle it because you have about 5 old tired worn out arguements that have been disproved. Evolution as a theory is on the ropes. And has been.
  • + 2
 @preach:
Loving this thread. There's religion, there's boobs, and even how to fry an egg!
Seriously though. Did you feel attacked? Why? I asked you about "law of causality". I asked whether you were referring to causality in physics or philosophy. You didn't really give me an answer. We didn't even discuss Jesus or your religious views - I don't care whether you believe in Jesus or the flying spaghetti monster. I simply asked you to extrapolate. But you didn't, because you immediately felt some threat to your religious views and started attacking "atheists". Don't be a hypocrite.
And, baselessly, you assume I'm an atheist and what my ideas are. I haven't actually given you my ideas at all. I'm asking you to defend yours. Wasn't that something you would have had to do for your doctorate?
  • + 0
@Lejla: ah. I’m assuming that you did read the thread.
  • + 0
@Lejla: this is probably the most interesting thread I've ever read on pinkbike. Unfortunately there hasn't been much depth.

It would be nice to get more out of @preach and the other couple guys. I legitimately am trying to learn here!
  • - 1
@Lejla: so now that it's not late at night here on the east coast...here you go.
(also, since you didn't read the threads earlier comments I'll disregard your earlier post since you're very late to the discussion)
1. I'm assuming you're an atheist...why else would you choose to jump in on the "God" part of the thread, but as a woman, completely disregard the part where men are making pretty lewd and crude points about women's bodies....this always makes me scratch my head.
2. Causality- in layman's terms. everything that is, has to have a cause. Hence the universe is, so it had to have a cause.
3. Second law of Thermodynamics- The universe is running out of usable energy (which again using logic means that it had a beginning and is now subject to entropy) If it had a beginning it had a cause.
4. The expansion of the universe- Hubble has shown as backed up by physicists that the universe is expanding out from a specific point. (it had a beginning)
5. Radiation afterglow- by 1965 astronomers proved that the explosion radiation from the big bang was actually viewable and calculable.
6. Galaxy Seeds- there are definable variations in temperature found in ripples seen by NASA's COBE satellite with such precision they point to an exact moment when the universe began.
7. Einsteins Theory of Relativity- In Short, space-time-matter are co-related...which of course demands a beginning.

So...just the tip of the iceberg on the origin of the universe and causality.
  • + 3
@preach: point 3 - this is the current theory, but smart people do think there must be more to the world than the Cold Death of the universe like Quantum Decay, and sht. point nr 4 - I’m pretty sure you got it wrong here, I asked the question on Isaac Arthurs page if we can point to a place where big bang happened (as if universe was extending from it) and they said no. Big bang happened everywhere.

Then I hope we are differentiating cause from meaningful/ purposeful creation, religious people believing in creation by a diety/ set of deities, tend to have problem with this.

Finally, I love people who call themselves religious, agnostic or atheists as if it was up to them to decide and as if terminology was clear like 2nd law of thermodynamics. For instance Richard Dawkins is more dogmatic in pursue of reason than a priest I used to know in pursuit of Jesus. Environmentalism, crossfit, veganism are examples of religion.
  • + 2
If you do a quick google on the subject where big bang happened if universe has a center you'll find plenty of explanations that it happened everywhere because assuming this means a ball of matter exploded into empty space, but there was no space before the big bang. Also reading on/ watchign stuff about death of the universe you'll find lots of different theories and the cold death is simply just something we are able to have as the most plausible scenario based on what we know today. So, I'm waiting with excitement for launch of James Webb Space Telescope. For now the date is May 2020.

As to God, I can only tell anyone, and many will, once you separate God from Religion, the real fun starts, so does real spirituality. Right now you are bound to what a group of people tells you about It (Him, her, fk you) you will never be able to experience communion fully without leaving a set of rules religion puts on you. Eat mushrooms, meet everyone.
  • + 3
@preach, I'm a bit disappointed, considering you think so highly of your intellect. You make huge leaps of assumption based on some rudimentary understanding of scientific terms to "prove" that God must exist. And you know, I don't even care whether you think He does or not, I was merely hoping for some in-depth scientific reasoning. Yet, it's actually your first point I can't get past: "I'm assuming you're an atheist...why else would you choose to jump in on the "God" part of the thread, but as a woman, completely disregard the part where men are making pretty lewd and crude points about women's bodies....this always makes me scratch my head."

Plenty of reasons why I would choose to join. It looked interesting - lots more interesting than me trumpeting on about the objectification of women. Men like boobs, men used some ridiculous words to describe boobs. Whatever ... I had more important topics to jump in on. Or did you not expect a silly little woman to bother with that stuff?

 @millsr4: don’t make a statement if you don’t want a response.
I’m sure if it’d been about banging hookers and snorting blow it’d be fine. Heaven forbid someone actually has something to say about deep stuff
  • + 2
@preach: And when did I make any statements on here about religion?! Once again, you need to get out of here with this BS and go preach on an appropriate forum! You crazy religious fanatics are all the same, you can't shut your mouths and let people live their lives! Whats so wrong with banging hookers and doing blow anyways?! Sounds like a good time... Wink
  • + 2
@millsr4: God bless sir. Best to you and yours
  • + 0
@preach: alhamdulillah! Oh sorry, wrong cult, I mean religion...

scott probably doesn't even ride anymore or maybe he can't do he has to be a HATER how pathetic
  • + 1
don probably doesn't even write coherent sentences anymore or maybe he can't do he has to be response to HATER how pathetic
  • - 1
@scott-townes: go lick Satan's balls. This thread has made me a believer of Jesus. He is our only star Lord. He could probably even beat up Thor if he wanted. I imagine Jesus dressed up like a power ranger when he goes into battle. Its crazy when he goes super sayan

Found this on Imgur this morning. You are Ned Flanders.

 @preach: this is your life

He’s still ok, jclnv is on the other side and is like Bill Maher reading stories to children. www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8GfNh5xtdo

I remember when we showed Brandon the new kits, he said "That white kit, I know how I want to film it"...he sent some imagery ideas of what he was thinking, and he put this together exactly as he envisioned. We are stoked! Thanks Brandon and Rupert!
  • + 6
Do you think he is a better rider or a better artist? I call him a magician!
  • + 95
It appears that I have been riding my Remedy incorrectly.
  • + 25
Ok, massive respect for this guy. He’s gone well past the riding thing. He’s got that. He can use his riding as an expression of visual art. He’s actually capable of making artistic statements with his riding, as just one element of the media. This whole piece conveys an air of ominous foreboding. Kind of expresses how the world feels in this present age. It strikes you emotionally. It stands up as a pice of actual artwork. Massive props to you Brandon!

 One too many fattys.
  • + 23
Well, the XTR add on the front page didn't even last 24 hours.... SRAM taking it back with a Semenuk release.
  • + 13
Semenuk release. I see what you did there...

CHA-CHING one week banner ad, $25000

@POWsLAYER: yes, the rumor has it there is a Lambo driving around Squamish with LEVY 110mm on plates. He misjudged the percentage of population knowing what a downcountry bike is though...
  • + 3
@WAKIdesigns: trick answer: theres no such thing as a downcountry bike.
  • + 18
i'm always wondering what happened to all these sick trails, made only for video. Does anyone know, if are they still rideable, or destroyed after filming?
  • + 5
 Most are still rideable
  • + 5
 If you can find them
  • + 14
That trunk kissing at 1:56 !
  • + 1
I was wondering if anyone else saw the tree buzz at 1:56
  • + 14
The scratched goggle lens at the end ruined it for me Big Grin
  • + 8
That is some serious ocd you got there
  • + 2
What bothered me was the song part that starts at 0:30 that sounds like a rubbing disc brake.
  • + 0
Sorry about that, I thought that would be removed in the edit. I was actually in the next room farting extremely loud and somehow it ended up on the soundtrack.
  • + 8
Bra, did you see that hit! Now let’s see it again from different speeds &angles.
I must be old, not my jam.
Awesome riding as usual from Brandon.
  • + 5
"Do a barrel roll" is no longer a joke. I ride my bike in the park, and kids tell me, "do a back flip"; f*ck off kids, like seriously, just because I bicycle doesn't mean I do back flips. There's like 0.00001% entertainment monkeys.
  • + 6
I'm sure it's excellent, but I ain't watching it until I finish my shift, if it makes me want to ride this day is gonna drag even harder... 9 hours to go...
  • + 2
so back to the vid.....nice rants by the way! he is an amazing riding rider, can't argue that, but personally I am tired of always watching the same jump scene over and over and over. Maybe show his rally car racing for a change of pace........just my opinion
  • + 2
Glad to see another Sem edit and I get the whole “night vibe “ for something different . But he is such a subtle rider. Like you almost need to watch him well lit in slomo because he does so many cool little nuances in his riding.
That being said...I’m just glad for another edit from him.
  • + 3
I always wonder what do those trails become when the shooting is done , are they simply abandoned? Pretty sure a lot of guys out there would love to shred that (not me) lol
  • + 3
Amazing riding, but each video of his looks a lot like his last. The corked flip was mint, but it is a case of they all look the same now.
  • + 4
Tree bonk whip at the end was legit...
  • + 4
 Welcome to red light district...
  • + 3
Just one of those videos that makes me want to go ride, unbelievable piece, great job boys. Thanks for the motivation
  • + 1
Another sick video from Semenuk! Sure the sick roller scrub is sweet but I love the hanging moto whip! Also as a trail builder I can't help but drool over the perfection of that trail and the attention to detail!
  • + 3
Love the blade runner x Akira vibe...but in the woods? Wow. Love the aesthetic
  • + 1
 CANADAAAA!!!
  • + 1
This guy needs his own James Bond film opening sequence already.

How come Grimes didn’t take Semenuk to that costume ball instead of the electro car dude.
  • + 1
Another amazing edit......beautiful work and congrats to everyone who had a hand in this. Oh yeah, Brandon, your riding was decent too.....:-)
  • + 1
You do realize this video was FREE for you to watch, correct?

Incredible whip, cork3 and body-English! Thx for the stoke and entertainment!
  • + 2
Can I get a video of entirely scrubs or whatever that is at 1:08? Thanks in advance.
  • + 3
First time ive seen him on a trailbike damn
  • + 1
I think the closest I've seen was him on a really small remedy before there was a ticket slope
  • + 1
Dual Penatration / Editor Rupert Walker really put a banger out this time.
  • + 1
I love this dead futuristic helmet shots from the begginning an end. Is like he says I m a perfect AI robot who rides bikes ain t no sure if I have soul.
  • + 1
if only i had a knockblock, I could do whips like semenuk. please someone sell me a knockblock i can put on my enduro somehow
  • + 2
If he had a an alien in a basket strapped to the bars it really would have completed the vibe.
  • + 1
Even the best riders in the world watch this and realize this guy is on an entirely different level. For us mortals? well, it's back to the drawing board.
  • + 1
Wow what amazing track & riding, did go bit deep on some jumps but I would not even get toes near that lines, so as near to perfection as can be?
[Reply]
  • + 1
This man handles that bike smoother than I am handling my on hand during writing down my name for the billionth time. thumbs up for the musical taste btw
  • + 3
Very red, although I think I prefer a dirty blue movie.
  • + 3
 1:07... I cheered.
1:25... I wept.
  • + 2
Can we make a petition for semenuk to just do a not so arty video? Its cool, but we need a rowdy tune and no slo mo please?
  • + 66
You could, but Brandon will probably do whatever he feels like doing.
  • + 2
Agreed, I rarely enjoy Semenuk's videos as much as everyone else seems to for that exact reason. I can't see the riding half of the time thanks to all the shaky cam, repeats from different angles and slow mo.
  • + 1
@brianpark: Brandon Semenuk for Only MTB is what we need
  • + 5
erm his RAW100 videos aren't that arty. Not much story, not much talking, no camera make up, film starts and he gets straight into fisting
  • + 1
@WAKIdesigns: I've said this repeatedly. Semenuk videos would be better with more fisting.
  • + 1
Why didn't he use the Contra video game music!
  • + 2
@brianpark: thank you. I fking hope to hell that the last thing he would do is listen to any of the douche nozzles on the PB comments...
  • + 1
@brianpark: as the old say goes; your going to get criticized regardless, so you might as well do what ever the f^*k you want.
Personally I love the way Rupert & Brandon interpret riding in their edits, and its not just because it’s Brandon riding. If they produced a edit together with a different rider I know I would enjoy it just as much.
  • + 2
Man, it must be sooo fun to be that good!
  • + 1
Semenuk doing what he does best. Never gets old. Cue all the copycat edits.
  • + 1
I just love how he uses a AM/endurbro bike for smooth, perfectly manicured jumps!!
  • + 1
Discussing religion...... Just don't. ESPECIALLY ON A MTB WEBPAGE! FOR FUCK SAKES!
  • + 2
 The scrub master strikes again.
  • + 1
Everytime I need a pick-me-up or laugh, I always look at the Pinkbike comments section! Better than the funnies!
  • + 2
Meh. Just another Semenuk edit. same shit different colour lighting.
  • + 1
i feel super thankful that i get to watch this amazing free content. that production level is up there!
  • + 1
I will say I feel like Techno would have been a better choice with that lighting.
  • + 1
"Lapse" is probably my favorite B.S. vid , didn't care for this one that much
  • + 1
