Gotta say that Revel was hands down the best display of bike riding ever to grace my screen. Huge props to Semenuk and Walker! Oh and btw, #semenukgotrobbed

Still my favourite film of the year.
Just like with unReal though, why release all these segments online?
It's $5 for the film, just pay up and enjoy the whole thing!

#semenukgotrobbed is the new "looks like a session" Big Grin

By the way, because of that film, I'm now a vimeo on demand customer, sigh...

#Sorgegotrobbed for the public opinión. I can repeat a million times that he was go bigger than anybody, that is the essence of the Rampage.
  • 52 5
Mind = blown. Full segment will be bought. Semenuk is too me the best bike handler on the planet right now. I can't even think of another guy even in BMX that has that much control, style and skill. #semenukgotrobbed

 ** #Sorgegotrobbed by public opinion.
  • 26 1
Man i dont even believe Semenuk is a real person. I have a theory where all his shots are just the absolute best bits of the best riders on the planet all wearing the same gear and riding the same bike. Seriously the only plausible explanation. No one person can be that good. Right?
  • 34 1
@ReverseKanga To be honest, I thought your theory would involve aliens, I'm slightly disappointed.
  • 33 2
The pb audience makes no sense, one day you all want only the gnarliest steep tech lines with no tricks and the next day the most slopestyle trick line was the end all be all line. Personally I think nobody had "the best" line cuz they were all so damned good and its too hard to compare. Not to sound cheesy but they were all winners in my eyes. Sorge, Semenuk and the rest of the guys laid it all on the line that day for our viewing pleasure, judges be damned.
  • 18 2
@torero If it really were the public opinion, why would you have neg props ?
Semenuk has the people choice award, THAT is the public opinion.

anybody got that link to where he overshot the last hit? I can't find it

@hamncheez He goes absolutely huge here: www.pinkbike.com/video/420008

@Milko3D - Semunuk being a Canadian, technically he's an alien to both the US (where this was filmed and Rampage happened) and to Australia (where @ReverseKanga posts from). Given the way he rips, though - yes, that's seriously otherworldly! In most sports (windsurfing, kitesurfing, snowboarding, skiing, whatever), I get a little tired of "freestyle" - sometimes, stuff just seems forced, and it's all so spinny/twirly/fancy. But there's something raw about this stuff that's pretty impressive - and those lines are downright gnarly. It's impressive and shows major balls that people ride that sort of stuff; even more so to send it big down those lines. But to do it with that much playfulness - wow, that's seriously on a whole different level.

It must be full CGI hologram technology... nobody can ride like that!
  • 5 2
For pure riding this Semenuk edit really has it all...I just bought the Zink film which had all kinds of emotion combined with historical riding!! Really worth getting. It doesn't seem to be getting promoted much

Wow negged pointing out freeriders don't have anywhere near the bike control as this guy... youtu.be/WpJOEfUUX28

I'm loving this edit by the way I just didn't agree with that comment.
  • 9 0
i say same levels of bike control is there. freeriders are executing HUGE moves on much bigger unpredictable terrain at faster speeds. respect all around..
  • 15 1
The thing is Semenuk uses his BMX, Dirtbike, Slopestyle and DH bikes with the same control, style and skill. I mean, which BMXer can land a 720 on a DH bike and on their normal 20" BMX bikes? No disrespect for the BMX guys and what they do. He is just the personification of perfect bike skills because rides them all and kills 'em all.
  • 19 1
 1:25
RW: can you repeat that 360 stepdown?
BS: sure
RW: please land in the *exact* same spot, OK?
BS: no probz!
  • 3 4
i don't know of any Bmx riders that have done that but I bet give you gave someone like Drew benazason a dh bike he'd be going nuts on it in no time. I'm in no way shitting on Brandon here he's definitely top ten in the mountain bike world but saying he's better than anyone else from any different style is just wrong.
  • 1 2
 Was thinking the same!
  • 3 1
LOL friggen PB. This segment never ceases to amaze no matter how many times you watch it. First time watching it, I couldn't comprehend the friggen double stager he does at :22 in... or the gap to rock at the end... or the handdrag 3, or his absurd style carving through the dirt like pow...

 that last hit is insane
  • 13 1
You should have seen him over shoot it then
  • 6 1
 and stick it
  • 6 0
That overshoot was more impressive than him pulling it clean, damn semenuk is one tough SOB.
  • 1 0
 knarly!!
  • 2 0
That rock to rock transfer was nuts. The overshoot video is even more nuts. Mad skill in the hands of Semenuk.
  • 4 0
I've seen the overshoot before, but I just noticed that he actually pulls his bike up towards his chest to narrowly miss the edge of the slab with his back tire. Intentional or not, that's amazing.
  • 4 0
Yea I saw that too he literally has the most body control I have ever seen on a bike!!!
  • 1 0
Lordy! That overshoot! @BullShift -- you're right but I think he changed his mind a few times in the air... first thinking he's going to sail over then "Ooh, maybe I can get my tires down.... uh oh...nope... too far....get 'em up up...phew!
  • 36 0
 that was just filthy
  • 28 0
I thought that it was crazy when he overshot that rock jump in the vid a few weeks ago... Doing it properly is even more insane.
  • 2 1
That's the saver way then going too slow. But yeah, that dude is nuts.
  • 2 1
My thoughts too Bigtim! Flippin' rowdy!
  • 1 0
Rowdy indeed! And I'm pretty sure overshooting that big old rock is better than undershooting! Gonna have to buy me the film very shortly.
  • 2 0
Yeah, on that rock to rock jump to fail would mean death for sure. Like some one else said, I beginning to believe that Semenuk is not human. Either that, or he is not working with the same rules mere mortals are cursed with which would make him a god.
  • 19 2
Jaw dropping, definitely should have won Rampage
  • 12 2
little fact fot hose who did not invest the 5$ for the whole clip (which you definitely should). In the outtakes you can see, that he kept on overshooting that rock at the end instead of landing on it. This guy has sooo much airtime

In another segment he did a huge 720 with his session. Kind of hoped for it at rampage...
  • 7 1
It's amazing how he's making split second decisions mid-air.
  • 8 2
Not sure why Milko was neg propped, because the control in the air to pull out of clipping the rock let along the balls to think he could still the landing in what must have been a last minute "oh sh1t" moment.... it's just out of this world!
  • 9 1
@BeardlessMarinRider, no big deal, I can't use the fake internet points in the shop anyway,
but thanks for 'watching my back' Wink
  • 12 2

I am feeling like Semenuk is above Rampage, judging and whatever... The way he gets out of a 4th place in Rampage and still carries on amazes me. Does not smile but keeps breaking the boundaries of impossibility! I would say that winning people's award must be so much more gratifying than being judged by a few enlighted ones! Brandon, just keep riding...

So who pays for Brandon's health insurance during A movie production like this? If he wrecked and suffered a catastrophic injury would the main sponsor of the movie (SRAM?) cover all his expenses? Do the producers of the movie have som kind of insurance that covers something like that?

I'm not asking to be a jerk. I'm genuinely curios how it works in terms of film shoots because what Brandon did here looks just about as dangerous as what he does at rampage when you consider its being done at night. And since we've all spent the last few days yelling about rider safety and responsibility and liability due to what happened at rampage, I'm just wondering if any of the same concerns should apply here. Seems everyone is just back to being super stoked to see a rider hurling himself off massive cliffs. Movies like this are not different than rampage in that they are really just a way for brands to get their riders and equipment exposure.

I'm sure someone at Pinkbike could shed some light on these issues in relation to rider safety and liability since they just produced Builder.
  • 8 1
 YEAH bringing back the crankflips!!!
  • 2 1
I was really hoping for a canyon gap crankflip this year
  • 4 1
No wonder he looked so comfortable at Rampage. I mean, if he's doing this stuff at night, its gotta be better when there's better visibility! obviously there's a difference between putting it into a single run vs multiple attempts. Still though, he looked like he was on a built course at rampage. Now I see why.

Best manual through whoops I've seen since Eli Tomac at the Daytona supercross last year. Explain to me again how that works without a motor?

 Super skills + speed.
  • 7 1
That manual through the whoop section though.....BRAPPPPPPP

This is how the Phillips LED/Sweetgrass Products (Darklight) film should have been done - less slow mo, more lively music. The Phillips guys LED's plus the general overall theme of this video, with a little bit of the dramatic and cinematic effect from sweetgrass would be monnneeeeyyyyyy!

Should have been on the podium at Rampage

That rock gap just so so...but that warp speed manual over that rhythm section was so freakin composed. Obviously the gap was good too!
