This course is perfect. I wasn't upset about he bike park feel of most tracks before but I am now. No wonder Sam Hill lost his passion for dh, this is what every course used to be like. This is what I remember from ten years ago and further back, and this is the downhill I fell in love with. Leogang doesn't even seem single black diamond compared to this, in fact Leogang needs to never be on the circuit again.

I've always seen MSA as the most pure DH track on the calendar, got every thing a WC DH should have, apart from loam maybe now haha

@LoganKM1982 have you even been watching the races this year? lots of gnar tracks really only one track so far i would call a "bike park"

@nismo325: Just curious - Which park would you say is more Park?

@nismo325: I've seen them all, and enjoyed watching Leogang, arguably the most park like. Something just struck a cord with these videos and this track. Leogang definitely had some gnar, and was steep and fast as hell. I just prefer this kind of course.

well put. MSA got criticised a few years back, maybe it was last year, for being sanitised. looks like they listened or maybe just had a load of rain, haha. anyway, looks the bollocks to me, got just about everything. Reckon i'd need about 50psi not to flat

 Huck to rock landing 'Ow', hurt wrist or ankle my guess, incredible speeds. But not 100% I guess either, how many flats this weekend? Place your bets please, gonna be a good watch as per usual. Good luck to all the Brits;

This came as a shock to me, I wasn't aware that World Cup racers were capable of feeling pain.

@callmefj: He felt something lol (twice)

Both riders made a sound of some sort in the left hander before the right leading into the high speed section. A sound like something hurt, maybe a harsh g out or some sort of bottom out of the suspension or both? I thought it was an injury or a rock strike at first

I believe that was the rocks he was crushing crying out, not the rider

@callmefj: they do feel pain. They do not know fear though.
  • 1 0
Maybe stubbing a toe on a poked up rock or some thing.
  • 2 0
nah, my gues is he screw up his line. when you hurt is usually f...k given. adrenaline and stuff.

I'm not sure if Brendog was in pain, or saw the daughter of the blond woman who caused Claudio to crash, back in the day!

how about a side-by-side splitscreen? Pinkbike IT people get on it! (It would be weird for me to ask my IT people here at work)

I just feel sorry for the bikes. Probably OK if you sponsored, but I would actually think twice about pinning my own machine down this course. You would be just waiting to something to blow up.

I just feel sorry for the bikes. OK if your sponsored, but I would be thinking twice about pinning my own rig down this course. You would just be waiting for something to blow the whole time. Looks fun though. Proper DH.

That trail is always so brutal, I love it !

Track looks savage as ever - the rocks in the lower sections.
  • 2 0
@tremeer023: you really have to see the track live, especially the rock gardens, they're long, have some off-camber and are pretty steep.
  • 4 0
I would have flatted 15 times
  • 2 0
how many wheelsets will teams go through!!! all of them.
  • 1 0
I fear for the riders on carbon rims!
  • 1 0
1-2 rear rims a day, but the wheels are rebuilt and trued more than that.
  • 2 1
2:37 - it looks like Brendog lifts his bike up mid air and scoots it to the outside of the corner ... crazy
  • 1 1
Little bit of a whipping action to the side.its easy enough to learn to initiate but not so easy to land on the correct line and hold it afterwards haha!
  • 1 0
the sound of a Brendog in pain at 2.00
  • 1 0
Tear it a new arsehole Brendog!!
  • 2 0

 Whats a Scott?
  • 1 0
 Gaetan looked faster?
  • 1 0
 No to me.
  • 1 1
He looked smoother to me but not faster.
  • 1 0
Fairclough looked, sounded, and was faster--the landing at 1:43, even with poor moving image quality! But Vige did it better because he didn't have to say oww!, and his tires went pitter patter instead of squinch squinch. But Batty had more skills because she's the ideal Canadian.

Brendan for me, about 6 seconds i'd say comparing the two
