May 11, 2022
by Pinkbike Staff

We are excited to announce the launch of Fantasy Enduro. Pick your dream Enduro World Series team and you could be in the running to walk home with the Grand Prize.

Get ready to show your skills for picking winners, at all 8 rounds of the 2022 Enduro World Series. With a fictional budget of $1.5 million you will choose your ultimate team of 6 riders (4 men, 2 women) and go to battle in the Fantasy Enduro League. Each round you can make changes to your team and you can be apart of 2 mini-leagues and compete against your friends. Each race round will have feature prizing for the overall Top Team of the round and then at the end of all 8 races we crown the overall Fantasy Enduro Champion and present the Grand prize of a complete bike!

Sound good? Build your team today! See the list of participating riders for this round here.

Grand Prize
Season Overall

For the grand prize awarded at the end of the season, Maxxis teamed up with Ibis to kick start your enduro career! Ibis is providing their Ripmo AF with a NGX build and Maxxis will make sure your first couple seasons of racing go smoothly with 24 tires of your choice in addition to a boat load of team Maxxis swag!

Round Prize
Round 1: Tweed Valley

For this first round, one lucky winner will receive three sets of Maxxis tires, including two Assegais, two Shortys and two Dissectors along with some swag to keep you looking fresh on your way to the trails. Designed by the GOAT, Greg Minnaar, the Assegai has quickly gained a reputation as the grippiest tire in Maxxis’ line. It’s the go-to front tire for the gnarliest conditions. The knob layout on the Shorty has been altered to improve wet traction, cornering performance, and mud shedding abilities, while the Dissector seeks to minimize drag while retaining cornering control.

IMPORTANT: To maximize your chances to win the Grand Prize, we recommend you have your team created by June 3, 2022. You will want to maximize your points score and have your team present for all races. Teams created at a time after races have previously occurred earlier will not be eligible to backlog points that riders would have accrued from previous races.

2022 Race Schedule:

EWS Tweed Valley 4 June 2022 Innerleithen, GBR
EWS Petzen Jamnica 18 June 2022 Petzen Jamnica, SLO

 Bro where is XC fantasy
  • 20 1
You shouldn't ask Bro where the XC stuff is at.
  • 26 13
No XC Fantasy for the 2022 season unfortunately
  • 8 1
I thought it was already made pretty clear that brands didn’t want to contribute to XC fantasy, so there were no prizes and thus no league

@samdeatley: i think a lot of folks would have been fine without prizes. the bigger thing was that there hadn't been any sort of official communication about it from the PB staff, I guess this is the closest we'll get to that.

@sarahmoore: Someone finally answered! We can all sleep again
  • 4 0
 @Burningbird: That's all we needed.
  • 9 0
@samdeatley: "Pretty clear"? It was mentioned in a comment in one of the XC articles last week after weeks of people asking and moaning. Not what I'd call being very explicit or communicative about it.
  • 1 0
 @sarahmoore: boooooo. makin me sad...
  • 1 0
@Burningbird: Outside shareholders getting paid > Fantasy XC
  • 2 1
 @tylerebbertmtb It's behind the paywall.
  • 4 0
@samdeatley: I would have be happy with a XC fantasy w/o prizes. I mean who see it as a way to win prizes?!
  • 2 1
@fautquecaswing: Yeah same. I love the fun of thinking about a good team and wathcing your chosen riders' performance.
  • 20 1
pinkbike should try a fantasy XC league. The UCI World Cup XC racing is easy to watch on redbulltv. There are a lot of famous racers, I've even seen articles written about them on pinkbike dot com the website.
  • 16 0
Will Pinkbike ever update their athlete roster, half the athletes in here aren't even racing the EWS they've gone E EWS or aren't racing
  • 3 0
Seconded, athlete list has some serious holes in it
  • 13 0
seems like the rider list should be updated? Not seeing a lot of riders that will be doing a full season.
  • 1 0
Seems like last years u21s who have moved up to senior are missing
  • 6 0
@JamesKROZ: The rider list was updated to reflect the 2021 standings, but you're right that we may have overlooked some of the U21 riders. I'll look into that shortly!
  • 3 0
Amd Robin Wallner and Oton weren't they retired from the top field?
  • 1 0
@sarahmoore: the entry list has adam brayton, joe breeden, and mitch ropelato. I think Cody Kelly and Vali Holl are racing some others. Would be nice.
  • 2 0
@sarahmoore: Thanks for creating the list! Is there a possibilty to add Gloria Scarsi? Thank you!
  • 10 1
Excellent. Real fantasy enduro is better than fantasy fantasy xc.
  • 2 0
Ahhh hahah hahah, now my 6yr old is wondering why I’m chuckling
  • 5 0
 Didn’t Robin Wallner retire?
  • 2 1
Yea. Rider list is totally messed up.
  • 4 0
Please add Dan Booker. Should be racing the full season for Nukeproof-Sram factory racing
  • 5 1
This rider list sucks. Bernard Kerr, really? And no Irenee Menjou?
  • 1 0
I've added Menjou now. List is based on the 2021 overall ranking.
  • 3 0
@sarahmoore: Can we get Alex Storr in there too? He just moved up this year. I'm giving away my whole team list
  • 12 0
This list needs a serious price adjustment. Remi Gauvin finished 28th but is 10th most expensive rider. Eddie Masters 39th - 11th most expensive. And there are many more examples of this but basically if a rider performs they become more expensive which is fair. If a rider underperforms - they are still expensive.
  • 5 0
 Jess Stone?
  • 2 0
Yeah real good contender for the opener. Should be on the list
  • 1 0
I finished the sentence in my head before finishing it with my eyes hoping I could build a fantasy enduro bike with virtual parts that are still unavailable
  • 1 0
Will all the practice picking our XC and DH fantasy leagues teams this is going to be a breeze.
  • 2 0
another fantasy contest to suck at - luckyyyy
  • 2 0
6 maxxis tires? That prize is worth 200 specialized goblin helmets.
  • 1 0
One day I'll be a true bot and win one of these things! ha
  • 1 0
@sarahmoore need to add some riders such as Jess Stone
  • 1 0
And other riders like Corey Watson etc
  • 4 4
you can even pick 6 riders theres not enough cash
  • 1 1
 Strange ranking of the females.
  • 1 0
 Where Corey ?
  • 1 1
 No Emmitt or Jack Menzies,…
  • 1 2
Fox on the Ibis Ripmo AF? thought that was dead a couple of years ago.
  • 1 0
What do you mean by dead a couple years ago
  • 2 0
All new ripmo Af’s will be coming with Marzochi suspension very soon. Not fox but close.
  • 1 0
@stokedrightnow: cool. I actually ride a ripmo af with fox 36 rn, so I was just a bit confused
  • 1 0
@stokedrightnow: How is Marzocchi not fox? Big Grin
  • 2 0
@winko: yeah marzocchi is just entry level fox in another color
  • 2 0
@ZanderShredsMtb: When I ordered my Ripmo, a couple of years ago, 2020. I tried to get the fox sus. and was told that they were only going with DVO, not that I'm mad, became a fan of DVO. Maybe it was supply issues with COVID or something. On Ibis's page the only option is still DVO.
