PRESS RELEASE: California Enduro Series presented by Specialized

The series is bringing back two favorite events from years past: the Toro Enduro presented by CCCX, which will kick off the season on May 23 in Salinas, and the Mammoth Bar Enduro presented by TBF Racing, which will take place June 13 in Auburn.

The China Peak Enduro, presented by China Peak Mountain Resort — which has been on the CES line-up since the debut of the series — will take place June 27 in Lakeshore; it will again be a qualifier event for the Enduro World Series (EWS).

The Mt. Shasta Enduro, presented by Mt. Shasta Ski Park, will then bring racers to the south slope of NorCal’s iconic Mt. Shasta on July 18 for a second year on the CES schedule.

More big mountain action will take place at the Northstar Enduro, presented by Northstar California Resort, which returns to CES for the 7th time. The two-day event is also the finale for the EWS North American Enduro Series.

The 2020 season will conclude in style as usual with the Ashland Mountain Challenge, presented by Ashland Mountain Adventures, on October 3. This race is also a qualifier event for EWS.

eMTB Categories
eMTB categories will be available for four of the six 2020 races: Toro Enduro, China Peak Enduro, Mt. Shasta Enduro, and Northstar Enduro.

New for this coming season, Open eMTB will replace Expert eMTB categories. The four 2020 eMTB categories will be: Open eMTB Men, Open eMTB Women, Sport eMTB Men, and Sport eMTB.

FOX Queen Stage
2020 is also rolling out the all-new FOX Queen Stage at each race. The racer in each category with the fastest time on this particular stage will get bonus points towards their overall ranking.

Stage Wins
Of course, winning a race and winning the overall are the goals, but we all like stage wins as well. For the 2020 season, we'll be tracking stage wins, offering a bonus prize for the male and female amateur racer with the most stage wins at the end of the season.

2020 Schedule
Be sure to put these dates on your calendar, and to stay tuned to our emails and social media for registration announcements.

 I was really hoping for a new venue...or ideally a return to the magical forests of Mendocino.

 Please come to the Mad River enduro here in Humboldt, you won't regret it!

 that was a fun race a few years ago!

 @Jimmy0: wow I’ve never even heard of that race! I’m gonna have to get the SB crew to heads north for that one next year.

 @Jimmy0:That race is wack. No way would I drive all the way up from San Diego - especially with a 'crew'!!!

 @Jimmy0: I second this. Best race on the best trails. Such a gun time. RCMBA put on an excellent race!!

 @Enduro187: The locals already can't race it because the registration fills up with out of towners before they get off work. They don't all sit on computers all day like we do.

 @endlessblockades: do you live here?

 @Jimmy0: A bit south, but I've raced both years and that was what locals were saying. Obviously it's not 'wack'. It's by far the best race, but it's gonna be even harder to get a spot the more it gets blown up on PB.

 @endlessblockades: reg date was posted ahead of time, but I also don't think anybody expected it to sell out so quickly to be honest. Were a small place and the trails are pretty new.

 @Jimmy0: Yep I was on it the minute it dropped and it was sold out before the end of the work/school day which caused people to miss out. I joined RCMBA just so I can do the shuttled member appreciation day as well. I usually don't get north of Lost Coast/Petrolia (family) but am happy to drive 5 hours from the Bay to ride there - love sending Wood Rat and Gnome and Pits and whatever those other trails are called! You're stoked if that's your hood. Looks like y'all are making a lot of progress on the climbing trail too.

 @endlessblockades: that's good to hear. I'm intimately familiar with the trails and I hope to see you up here

 No SoCal events? Bummer.

 Additional races will be announced once CES sorts out event, sponsor, siting details.

 This is the schedule for 2020... no additional races are in planning or planned. Schedule conflicts prevented us from having a 2020 SoCal event on the schedule this year. We tried everything we could to move things around to make it work - but we could not resolve the conflict.

 I love Ashland as much as the next guy, but it's hard to justify that as an EWS qualifier after going through the northstar round this year

 Definitely more Downcountry then Enduro.. but it's probably the most magical dirt of all the other races!! Just going off my experience this year! It was straight Magic Carpet!

 @Jaybirdy: exactly my point.

 I was holing for more big mountain/ski resort races, but this is a good enough excuse to warrant getting a shorter travel bike.

 SV cycle sport!

 This should be called the Norcal Enduro series.
