The last officially unofficial event that caps off Sea Otter is the Aptos Post Office Jam.

Many pics to tell the story inside,
It wasn't easy saying goodbye to our luxury accommodations. Kind of like waking up from a dream.

The Chill Out Cafe in Santa Cruz. Sick breakfast burritos.

Arriving at the soon to be torn down post office jumps, things we're looking pretty busy already, and it was only around noon.

The Post Office jumps. Check 'em out, before they're gone.

Brandon Howey, Sam Dueck, Andrew Taylor, Darren Berrecloth, Alex Pro.

Jamie Goldman, working the crowds.

At any given moment the jumps would look like a Vegas water fountain, with multiple riders
in the air at the same time off every single jump at the place.

Bryson from Marzocchi looking over the troops, and Keith from Banshee.

Ian Hylands. Getting all mad scientist with his lighting set up.

Eric Lawrenuk. Not sure what this is all about, but I'm also not surprised.

Goldman was pushing it up a little higher than most.

All eyes, as always, on Semenuk. Kid's got his own thing going on.

Hoot's the jump train. Yay.

Sam Dueck was flinging these super straight as shit leg flips all over California.

Brandon Howey, it's nice to be super.

Tyler McCaul, super man holds a seat.

Darren Berrecloth, laying out the dining table.

Brenden Semenuk, stirring the lemonade.

Kyle Straight, knocking over the glasses.

Alex Pro, turning down the lights.

Gareth Dyer, ready to punch the lights out.

This is not Gareth Dyer.

Andrew Taylor, Jeesus christ no hander flip.

Darren Berrecloth, Jeesus is his homeboy.

Tyler McCaul, showing everyone why he's a star.

Aptos Alumni - Jamie Goldman

There was a mini jam happening right next to the big jam.

The future looks cool.

The present's not bad either. Semenuk x 7

The best part of the Post Office Jam, was that it wasn't a contest.

Just good times.

Sven Martin, working way too hard.

The cops, also working way too hard.

Dueck the demon.

Shit yea.

Cam McCaul, about to give birth to his first bike shop.

Repeat after me..."The West is the Best".

Ok I will repeat after you ---> THE WEST IS THE BEST!
There you go, I said it haha. Thanks again for giving us another part to the Californication series. It's all so incredible to me, that it's quite alot to take in. I'll have to come back to the whole Californication and read it again. You've got those photo comments down to a T haha. You had me laughing at the part about Gareth Dyer LOL.
I'm sorry to hear about the Post office getting torn, suppose it really is true that all good things come to an end. I can imagine it being really heart felt for regular diggers and riders. Frown As for that luxury mansion....just wow!
I agree, Semenuk really does have his own thing going on!

You guys could ask the developers if you could buy the site off them and start fundraising to get the money. If everybody at Pinkbike gave $10 you'd have $2'000'000!!!
  • 3 0
There is already a new plot of land designated for new jumps
