Oil Slick Pedals - Canfield Crampon Mountain Limited Edition

PRESS RELEASE: Canfield Bikes

We've taken our best-selling MTB flat pedal, the Crampon Mountain, and created a limited edition oil slick version to commemorate (and match) our 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Canfield Balance.

2020 Canfield Balance Limited Edition

The same patented convex shape, ultra-thin profile, 6-millimeter leading edges, double-sided pins and low maintenance internals you know and love. Hot, new, foot-candy finish.

These beautiful, blingin' pieces of bike jewelry are available immediately, but we don't expect them to last long!

This oil slick thing is getting outta control.

Unavoidable by-product of having to get into the oil business to pay for our hobby.

@agarton: dude. calm down. you don't understand what you're asking for.

Oil slick is the new retro. Buy it now and only put it on your bike when it goes out of style. Just to be ahead of the curve.
  • 1 0
It will only be too far when we have oil slick tires. Extra slick
  • 1 0
Damn, oil slick is super cool! Thank God for oil, and oil byproducts.
  • 15 1
oil slick, the color that matches nothing and everything all at once.
  • 12 0
This is like the 80's reborn! Someone needs to make components in HyperColor where it changes color when it heats up. Then it would be retro and futuristic all at the same time! BRING ME MORE COLOUR!!!

Crampon pedals are awesome in any color. I was hoping they were going to be reviewed in Pinkbike's pedal shootout. Thin for ground clearance, grippy as all hell, and have been maintenance free for 3 years for me. I just got another pair for my Switchblade. Love these things.
  • 6 0
They are the best, Super thin! There are sponsored riders that run them on their own because of their clearance!
  • 5 0
super thin and love them... and canfield as a bike company. don't know why people would ride anything but theirs or the deity bladerunners. why people run flats that are thick... have no idea. if you like convex go canfield, if you like flat or concave go deity. no other pedal choice. anything else is just a thick waste of money... and root/rock catching madness.

@ranke: I’ve had 3 pairs of crampons, and now prefer the Al 1ups.
  • 7 1
But my feet keep slipping off!

What ever happened to the old ones with the exposed spindle? Those were sweet!

Looking forward to the review on this new balance.... Given the choice frame in black with oil slick linkages....

Why not the crampon ultimate got this color too? Crampon mountain and ultimate is sibling but mountain is more lucky than ultimate. Lol

Can we stop with the Oil Slick. Looked tacky in 2010, still looks tacky today
  • 3 0
Almost as tacky as spelling Rider with a "Y"
  • 3 0
Isn't oil slippery? These pedals sound DaNgErOuS

Call me when we have Oil Slick Bars.
  • 4 0

I'm pretty sure I need these

I got the Stamp 7 pedal in oil slick. Then another set for my DJ. Yes, I grew up in the 80s.
  • 2 0

Like Canfield stuff but oil slick looks like cheap arse chintz.
  • 2 0
Then dont buy it. I hate the color red, they still make red pedals though. Sometimes we have to do the difficult thing and move on with our lives.
  • 3 2
 $175, for those wondering.
  • 1 0
Thats $50 more than other oil slick pedals I see on the market. One would assume it’s machines versus forged at that point.
  • 1 0
Maybe gold plated, at that price

 Pricetag is missing?
