Round 2 of the Cascadia Dirt Cup found its way to Dry Hill, just outside of the seaside town of Port Angeles, Washington. Dry Hill is home to the
NW Cup downhill series and the
"Underworld Cup". It's the perfect venue to test an enduro racers skill, mettle and fitness. The trails are steep and fast; littered with roots, off camber sections, drops and jumps. You have to be 100% committed and focused or Dry Hill will frustrate the hell out of you. At the end of the day there was plenty of flesh wounds and broken bike parts(plus one frame) but the atmosphere was rather chill for people who just battled each other on a brutal course. I guess that is what happens when you race on cool trails and top it off with cold beer, tasty food and AWESOME PEOPLE.
