So the product is called ass-saver, yet it goes on the front of the bike. Guess they think peeps be riding backwards on thier bikes? Or they are insulting everyone by saying we have asses for faces. lol

:/
  • + 22
Never heard of the term "Ass backwards"? Wink
  • - 76
flag jaycubzz (May 5, 2016 at 21:54) (Below Threshold)
or they actually produce fenders that go on the back of the bike, and that was the original product?

did you even bother to look at their other products?

ugh
  • + 34
 @jaycubzz: sarcasm bro
  • + 7
 'Efficent fender.' Dafuq?
  • + 3
you get what you pay for in anti-chafe cream and under $300 taint gonna do it! Only thing that really works is if it has at least 20% unicorn blood. How much you might ask? You thought your carbon 650b 'duro frame was expensive!
  • + 7
 FRONTBOTTOMSAVER!
  • - 16
flag jaycubzz (May 6, 2016 at 6:43) (Below Threshold)
 @Gassymagee: definitely wasn't
  • + 1
@jaycubzz: @jaycubzz: If your brand name is that much of a tiny "niche", and you can't come up with a clever way to brand other products around your niche name then you deserve all the negative feedback that you get...

Big font at top, "grill guard", line below that, by Ass savers... or any number of about a million other ways to put a logo on a front fender that's made by a company that started out with rear fenders...
  • + 1
and what about going downhill with a girl sat on your handlebar??? AJA! and stopping your bike to anothe biker standing ass in tights? TOUCHE!

It's an ASS SAVER, just not yours Razz ja

PD: I also thought the name is a Sh1t!
  • + 1
Their original product was a little lightweight foldable plastic rear fender for road bikes which clips onto your saddle rails. I have one and it works really wel in the wet. The company name is appropriate for that product at least.
  • + 1
I was thinking it could also be mounted on a seat stay to protect suspension linkage. That might save your banks ass from a rock or two
  • + 91
"Resists perspiration, chlorine, salt water, and urine"

Finally I can piss myself with no downsides!
  • + 7
This is good news for me too cause I always make sure to lube up before i go swimming in my poolSmile
  • + 19
@S-nicholas: Remind me to stay outta that pool.
  • + 1
 @lubb1: Shhhh. It's a secretWink
  • + 34
"Perspiration, chlorine, salt water, and urine", sounds like my kind of party.
  • + 11
@Kramz: On another note, its been a long time since I've seen anyone do the gangnam style dance. But troy lee has no shame
  • - 2
If it resists, it doesn't retain bro, you might have a messy situation down there XD
  • + 1
@Kramz: you had me at perspiration.
  • + 27
my buddy used to do triathlons/ long road races and said people just piss them selves to save time. I could never understand a sport where people ride $10 000 ridged bikes on flat roads wearing spandex, covered in anti chafe cream pissing them selves.
  • + 3
I'l cover myself entirely with it and never ever shover again.
  • + 3
 @nismo325: Now that's a sport I'd watch!...
  • + 1
@nismo325: just need to rethink your priorities, man. Life is all about pissing oneself!
  • + 36
I need the Chaf-Zone creme and that vagina-looking helmet.
  • + 1
 Chaf-Zone:
All day relief

I bet you on that
  • + 22
That helmet's perfect if you're a real, ya know, d**khead.
  • + 9
Morning meeting has been interrupted by coffee coming out of my nose. That was funny
  • + 3
I had the same thought about the helmet hahaha
  • + 1
yeah that thing is quite the hatchet wound
  • + 16
Won't be needing the Ass saver as my ass will already be saved by the ChafeZone.
  • + 17
So that bar is 800mm end to end? What other way would you messure it?
  • + 28
800mm from right here to almost over there.
  • + 3
Talking of the bar, can someone explain me what a "OVERSIZED" 31.8 clamp means?
  • + 1
@Somacatere: it's oversized because the standard size used to be 25.4mm years ago.
  • + 13
What makes a stem Enduro? Sometimes I feel like the "Check Out" posts are really just PB editors having a little fun winding people up.
  • + 6
Thought the exact same thing, it's not an enduro stem, its a fucking STEM!
  • + 34
No no no it's not just marketing. The Enduro stem is lighter than a DH stem but just as strong and stronger than a trail stem but just as light. It's perfect for everyone unless you do DH in which case you might be interested in their DH stem which is much stronger and only a little heavier or if you do a lot of climbing in which case you might want the XC/trail stem which is much lighter and almost as strong.
  • + 7
These are literally ad's. . . Not an editors making, literally says "sponsored"
  • + 3
Maybe it's their way of saying that it's not a direct mount stem?
  • + 11
Oh man, I love these articles!
  • + 2
 Said no one ever!
  • + 14
@fercho25: and yet here you are ;-)
  • + 1
@passw: You need to love them to read them.
  • + 2
It doesn't matter what the article is about, i'm just here for the comments.
  • + 2
@scottzg: haha, i literally scanned through the latest articles and picked the one with the most comments! Glad I'm not alone
  • + 8
Hey wolf tooth- I'll take one of those stainless chainrings... In a 32 tooth...
  • + 5
Hydration packs are great, but if, like me, you prefer to keep your gear on the bike, I can't recommend the Ortlieb enough. Since it only attaches to the saddle rails, it works fine with droppers, and it's stayed quite secure on my hardtail through rough terrain. It's waterproof and fits my Sony Z5 Compact, a 26" tube, my wallet, and some tire levers and snacks. Larger phones might be too long to fit, though, and rear wheel clearance could be an issue on bike with a long dropper/full suspension.
  • + 1
How much would you say is the distance from the saddle to the bottom of the bag?

Ive been looking for ways to fit a saddle bag on my ds bike. That one looks compact but i dont know if it would be enough.
  • + 3
Agree that the Ortlieb Micro is great. But without a twig jammed into the plastic release clip it will jettison off the side of a rough trail. Based of both mine and my friends experience. Find the right sized twig though and problem solved One other issue is if you have a long travel bike upon bottom out the tire might be too close to the seat and rip the bag off. Happened on my Medium Specialized Enduro.
  • + 1
I've been looking to go packless too after a few rides without one. Has anyone had experience with Backcountry Research and their tube strap systems? I see a lot of people really like them. I'm looking at this model:

backcountryresearch.com/hypalon-mutherload-frame-mount-strap.html

I think I would like to see my stuff on the top tube in case there is a problem. Also, it has to be easier to deal with than using it on a dropper post, especially if you have a few different bikes and want to swap the pack from one to another.
  • + 1
@Vwise: I'm using this one on my med spec E29. It rubs the tire slightly at full compression, hasn't been a problem yet. Can just fit a lightweight tube, a lever, and two C02s.

www.lezyne.com/product-orgnzrs-caddys-roadcaddy.php#.Vyz48YkrKL4
  • + 1
@Vwise: they should include twigs with every purchase.
  • + 1
@barcolounger: That Lezyne bag looks great. I'll keep that in mind if I end up rocketing the Ortlieb into oblivion

@pancakeflatted They at least need to note it on the packaging "Safety twig not included. Source locally form your favorite woods."
  • + 9
275 specific marsh guard!!!! MUST BUY
  • + 4
but does it work with 27.5+ ?????
  • + 1
@build-n-ride: I literally just fitted a "standard" size marsh guard to my 27.5 bike.... immediately irrelevant lol
  • + 7
Chafezone for zee boyz? Oh please, Assos chamois creme has the slidin for the ridin.
  • + 8
That helmets got a bit of an axe wound
  • + 24
You think that's bad you should see the one that's black with pink surrounds on that vent
  • + 5
 Perfect spot for tree branches
  • + 6
@DJR9000: I thought you were having a laugh but I can't believe they actually do that colour. You think the designer was having a laugh on his last day or something and the boss never actually noticed? Lmao
  • + 3
I do not want the front of my bike to look like a Texas Longhorn. I can see that it might be nice to have 800mm bars on an extra large bike if you are 6'4" and have long arms. But are we going to see an 850mm bar next year? Just curious.
  • + 7
Huh? 800mm bars have been around for a minute. All the cool kids have em.
  • + 2
@therealtylerdurden: no, the cool kids realised 800mm is way too big unless you're on an "extra large bike if you are 6'4" and have long arms" Razz
  • + 2
Naw, those aren't the cool kids. Those are, uh.. probably hipsters. Were they riding fixies?
  • + 1
 @therealtylerdurden: What's the current widest bar? 820mm?
  • + 3
"800mm wide, end to end.". How the eff else are you going to measure width??
  • + 1
@bishopsmike: duh, center to center. I just can't wait for the new metric standard in bars. Game changer!
  • + 2
@SintraFreeride: Not a damn clue. I use a broomstick handle, so probably that.
  • + 1
@therealtylerdurden: I thought my 780mm 1 1/2" rise bars were big. Them my dad ordered some 800mm 3 1/2" rise bars... Talk about f*ckin Texas Longhorns...
  • + 1
@SintraFreeride: no, Superstar makes the yardstick at a lane giving 930mm.
  • + 1
 @freeriderayward: Man that is MASSIVE!!!
  • + 1
@freeriderayward: Pretty sure that the yardstick is a novelty, and nothing.more.
  • + 1
Syncros did a 1000mm bar just for shits and giggles a while back?

www.pinkbike.com/news/syncros-stem-2011.html

800mm bars are too wide if you ride anything with trees IMO like our trails here
  • + 4
That helmet needs to be renamed The Met Edsel.
  • + 4
 Squirt chain lube. The best.
  • + 1
Dumonde is actually fantastic. My pops swears by squirt, I swear by Dumonde!
  • + 4
Anyone wanna buy my old 26" specific mud guard?
  • + 1
I have the burgtec stem it looks nice and it is light but I would not recommed as it doesn't function well as a stem as every time u have a crash it will move on the steerer tube
  • + 1
pinkbike definitley has a new marketing director… or editor… or creative director...
you guys rised up the top of the classy style in mountain biking web sites.
this is next generation right now.
well done, cheers!
  • + 1
 Patent pending wide/narrow tooth profile.
Quickly get it patented rather than letting greedy SRAM which already have narrow/wide
  • + 2
I like how they highlight the thing that looks like a vag on the Met helmet.
  • + 2
Haha, you guys all made my Friday morning with these comments. Keep up the good work PB'ers
  • + 2
I've put ChafeZone on my saddle three times now and it doesn't seem to be working. Razz
  • + 1
What's the word on that ass savers? I'm in the market to keep mud off my face, but there are a ton of options...
  • + 1
Well than an ass saver is not what you need.

Maybe mucky nutz instead?
  • + 1
Why buy a Marsh Guard when you can get a Krazy Karpet for 3$ and cut 30 custom guards of your own?
  • + 2
im sorry, usd180 for a handlebar is stupid
  • + 1
Why cant they make 104 bcd chain rings in stainless steel? Is 104 bcd dead as well?
  • + 3
ON ONE makes them and for less than half the price.
  • + 1
I went to their website and they do have stainless steel chain rings except it doesn't come with the narrow-wide tooth profile, just the regular and meant for single speed. thanks anyways!
  • + 2
I do like those Wolf Tooth rings.
  • + 2
if it doesn't come in carbon and Enduro approved i ain't buying it
  • + 1
I like how the Burgtec bar says, "only available in OVERSIZE"... when 31.8 is now MIDDLESIZE... Smile
  • + 1
Girlfriend won't ride with you? No problem, Meet Lupo: www.todomountainbike.es/art/met-lupo-hes
  • + 1
 You mean under $387.63 CAD
  • + 1
@pinkbike no fails of the month?
  • + 1
 When did 31.8 become oversized?
  • + 10
When it was bigger than 25.4. So, always.
  • - 2
 @therealtylerdurden: you've gone all metric?
  • + 2
@Earthmotherfu: no we went back to standard. The stiffness and compliance characteristics can be tuned much more independently when they're done in inches
  • + 1
@trialsracer: ah ok.so an inch then?
  • + 1
My Marsh Guard wasn't 27.5 compatible? Wait, what...?
  • + 0
$99 dollar n/w chainring and it says a chainguide and clutch derailleur is recommended to prevent chain drop...
  • + 0
This is all weird shit that no one will ever buy, once again.
  • + 3
Those crazy handlebars and wacky helmets. What will they think of next.
  • + 1
@nickkk: A new standard maybe? Vagina helmets, and no name 31.8 X 800mm carbon bars are outdated last week.
  • - 1
Funny, I would have expected to see these on the side bar not the news feed.
  • + 1
 Oops, measure.
