PRESS RELEASE: Ciclista-America

We are excited to announce Sidi’s all-new mountain bike shoe the Dominator 10. This shoe is an all-new design intended to carry on Sidi’s all-time best selling MTB shoe the Dominator.

Sidi Dominator 10 Black
Sidi Dominator 10 is all new for 2020 and available in sizes 40-48, and half-sizes 40.5-46.5

Sidi RS 17 Sole

The Sidi Dominator 10 uses the RS 17 sole with a replaceable toe insert and rubber logo for traction in the center of the foot.

The Sidi Dominator has historically been our most versatile shoe. It has typically been very popular in BMX, XC, trail-riding and more recently gravel. Sidi redesigned the Dominator from the sole up for 2020.

We realize Sidi shoes are more expensive than many shoes on the market but we fully believe between the fit and longevity the initial investment is worth it. They are still hand made in the Sidi factory and no part of the production process is outsourced.

Sidi Dominator 10 Tech

• Features the Tecno-3 dial system for a fit that contours around the foot for the length of the entire shoe.

• The Soft Instep Closure System is a wide, anatomically curved strap combined with a soft, thermo-formed EVA pad that distributes pressure evenly over the instep area.

• The Soft Instep Closure System is adjustable from both sides, to perfectly center the EVA pad over a high or low instep.

• New RS17 sole is lighter than the previous sole and has been upgraded with a more aggressive tread pattern, a replaceable toe-insert, a non-slip Sidi logo, and is toe spike compatible.

• Sidi proprietary Tecno-3 system and Soft Instep Closure System is fully replaceable.

• Breathable, supple and durable vented Technomicro microfiber upper with cooling mesh panels.

• Sidi reinforced heel cup that stabilizes and supports the heel. Anatomically shaped plastic, reduces heel slip and provides increased power transfer. Provides additional foot protection in the event of a crash.

That's still a road shoe w/ a handfull of hard, slippery plastic blocks glued to the bottom. Sidi's "mountain"-branded road shoes have always had worst-in-class traction & walkability. Can't believe people still buy them w/ all of the genuinely dirt-worthy SPD shoes on the market by Shimano, Specialized, etc.

Agreed. A pretty nice gravel shoe with great fit though, if that sort of thing floats your boat.

I agree. I wanted to like these, and the on-bike performance is outstanding, but the slippery, hard lugs are totally disqualifying for me. I suppose they work for riders who are so skilled that they never need to unclip.

My old Dominators were almost indestructible. Great shoes on the bike but as mentioned above they kind of suck when you are doing any walking. I do love the mega fit though and that is why I have another pair of Sidi shoes, Dragons. The Dragons kind of suck off the bike too but the fit keeps me wearing them. If the SD15s or the Defenders came in mega sizing I would probably consider trying them. The bottoms of both the above shoes look much more walk-able if that is truly your goal.

@Veloscente probably you never wore Sidi?

Sure have: used them for years on the road, which led me to make the mistake of buying a pair for dirt. The "new" shoe above is nothing but a Genius w/ a couple undersized lugs slapped on as an afterthought. For mellow XC where your feet never come out of your pedals, you'll survive, but on wet roots or rocks you'd be better off wearing-metal soled tap-shoes. Leaving 90% of your "MTB" sole a large slab of slick plastic when the competition covers theirs in rubber is a clear sign Sidi's designers spend more time in cafes than on dirt.

@Veloscente: Never underestimate a good Italian coffee.
