Klondike bluffs? That is one of the most XC oriented trail networks in moab.

The first thing I did when they announced the venue and look at the refund policy: No Refunds Frown
I have extremely low expectations for this race being any fun. What a horrible venue, descending less than 3,000 vertical feet and zero shuttle service!

g1701- Its called an enduro race. If you want lift service, go do DH races... friggen whimp. Its still going to be massively fun. Mag 7 was pretty XC orientated and I enjoyed it. Klondike has some quality trails so if anything it'll be a fun time on some good trails with a bunch of fellow rippers. Although it sucks the open class won't be racing on Baby Steps. Maybe one day they'll have the descents down legit DH trails but I always look to Moab as more of a sprint XC race rather than enduro. The social scene makes it more than a good time which is nice.

 Should race down porcupine rim...

Scott- When I pay money for an Enduro race I want a fun course and experience. I don't see the value in a course that doesn't offer anything I can't get any other day of the week. Extra descents and shuttles is one way to do that, I realize timing is their biggest expense but I don't feel like I will get my monies worth. I know they can't shuttle this venue and their wouldn't be any point since it's relatively flat. I have ridden a lot of this trail system and my parting thoughts were, no reason to waste my time riding here again.

But this race hasn't had a history of ripping down gnarly descents but rather on those trails you speak of and of course with no shuttles.... maybe next year don't buy an entry spot without knowing the course? Simple solution really, and a fun experience is completely on you to have. It could be the lamest course ever but you can still have a blast hanging with the other riders... I know I have. Again not the best area for an enduro race and I wouldn't consider it as that but based on every race they've had before this and at the other stops, you know that the chances for a legit enduro race as I and most likely you, see it, are very low. I feel your expectations and statements of disappointment are both overblown. Hell you're from CO and the Big Mountain Enduro has been happening.... why wouldn't you save your money and just race those? Now those are legit enduro races. Boom, problem solved.

Definitely not a downhill race, but it'll still be fun. I had hoped, and expected, that Megasteps would be one of the stages - oh well. Though the total elevation change is minimal, a lot of these stages will be on rock so the speeds are high. It'll be more "downhillish" than Mag 7 was, and I was kinda over racing there anyway (as fun as it is). I'll be on a 120mm travel 29er. Smile

120mm 29er??? Shit, have fun winning. Wink

Not to sound like a trail nazi, but on a course that dry is it really necessary to drift the same corner that many times in a trail preview that showed maybe a few hundred yards of trail??

What a lame race course. No Kane creek rides?!?!?

Nice XC race you got there, seems like a hardtail or cyclocross bike could be ideal.

Well the photo above is a guy on a singlespeed hardtail boosting a lip. CX bike huh? This isn't a gravel grinder son.

I'm pretty sure they could have packed in more than 3k of descending in 25 miles even in the same network if they had used a different route. I rode out there a couple of weeks ago, and it's definitely pretty flat for an enduro race, there are some rocky tech sections, but nothing remotely steep.

Yep, pretty bummed about this one. The Moab stop has been my least favorite of this series and looks like that'll continue.

I'm doing a timed descent xc race in October called Moab Rocks and literally is the same course...

 Looks pretty flat.

I would have benefited from closed captioning

Frenchie isn't a Yeti ambassador anymore? Niner?

Capt. Ahab or Porcupine would have been solid choices

I have a feeling most of the kooks complaining here wouldn't have the stones to race anyways even if they were setting the course...

 oh yeah fasha surfer brah
