Course Preview: Race to the Sea - EWS Finale Ligure 2018

Sep 28, 2018
by Matthew DeLorme

Season's end. It's bittersweet and once again it ends at one of the best locations - Finale Ligure. Round 8 of the Enduro World Series is once again in this picturesque region of the Italian Riviera. Big changes to the format this year are the reduction from a two to a one day race. Four stages that represent a classic ride on some Finale favorites. Race day will cover 52 kilometers with 1,780 meters of descending.

It was only missing the trio of Hill kids!

@rocky-mtn-gman: Funny that, my girlfriend, who doesn't ride, actually started a lenghty wheel size debate when we had to pick stroller.

Small wheels won out and that stroller effin sucks offroad.

That sand stone will reach out and shred you a new one. The only rock that will open you up and pour salt in your wound at the same time.

Just me? Or does Nico’s wife look a little like Myriam Nicole?

@getonyourbike: Thank you geolocationologist. Yes limestone/ sandstone is the same depending where you are. Pinkbike hired on the go library riders to correct grammar and keep our sport in correct explanation of rocks.
  • + 5
@ShempHoward: erm, may want to check your geology there, dude. Both sedimentary rocks, but different types. Limestone is a chemical sedimentary rock made up of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) often coming from plant and animal material, and sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock made up of sand-sized grains (0.006mm - 2mm in size) of different minerals, lending it the name "sandstone"

So no, not the same thing.

@cptmayhem: Earth to boring rock douche, this just in nobody cares. Find some pussy and get back to us.
  • + 6
@ShempHoward: Haha! Rage on, dude. Someone corrected you, you doubled down with an alternative fact and raged when you were corrected, again.

Classy.

@cptmayhem: Learn how to read egg head. I told you nobody gives a shit about correct rock identification and go get laid for once in your sheltered life. Comprende!

@SiSandro: yeah, larger sized wheels on strollers are amazeballs. Those shopping trolley wheels suck! When my little one was in his 12" wheeled stroller we took him everywhere.
  • + 1
@ShempHoward: having said that, sandstone WILL shred you a new one and have you cleaning out your wounds for a week after.

@cptmayhem: If only your gift for stating the obvious could get you laid right.
  • + 3
@ShempHoward: you seem to have an unhealthy obsession with seeing me get laid... I'm not one for letting people watch, to be honest, but if you paid me enough I suppose we could come to an arrangement of sorts.

Cool family pic Smile However a name is missing in the caption. She is a mum, but Pauline Diefenthaler was an EWS rider too!!
