Its good to see Racheal wearing a Leatt, atleast she learned something from what happened to Dan, now lets see Gee and the rest of the competitors get on one.

Until you come to the realization that Leatt braces aren't the end all solution to neck injuries. It sure may look fancy, but it was never designed with DH helmets in mind so sure it may stop you from crushing your spine, but that helmet's gonna be mighty useful when it get's smashed to bits from both ends.

I never said it was the end all to neck injuries, but it decreases your chances of serious neck injury's ten fold, theyre will always be that hit that's too hard for anything to help. As for the helmets im not sure what your getting at.

Most DH'ers I know wear moto or at least moto style helmets...

I'm talking about the difference between using a MX helmet and a DH with a neck brace. Remember it was first thought out with a DOT approved helmet in mind which is much more rigid than your regular DH helmet. You can't guarantee that by using the Leatt brace or any other model for that fact that under impact it won't damage a softer shelled DH helmet in a negative way during a crash.

it very well may damage the helmet (how i have no idea but you seem set on it) but its going to limit your neck which is it what its job is

Some people unfortunately need to break their neck before they realize a leatt is a good idea

@combee - the way athi broke his neck there is simply no way a leatt would have helped

My Fox helmet is a MX helmet and its DOT approved. And Leatt just came out with a neck brace for "bike" helmets

m47h13u....I'd say that the majority of people where a TLD, but some do where MX helmets. Either way Leatt makes a brace for BOTH! Oh and I love when you said, "sure it may stop you from crushing your spine, but that helmet's gonna be mighty useful when it get's smashed to bits from both ends." So basically you're saying the Leatt brace will keep your spine from crushing (which I'm pretty sure is a good thing) and in the process will break to bits doing it's job. I love when people bitch just to bitch.
