The Swiss Alps and especially the Valais have more to offer than beautiful nature and breathtaking rock panoramas. Mountain bikers can find countless trails and parks – a special one is the downhill track in Crans Montana.

The start of the course is located above the tree line at an altitude of 2106m. To ride the 5.3km long course in one piece, you have to be really fit!

 Cool to see an article about my home resort Crans-Montana. Great tracks with a lot of flow and perfect to start the season or to improve your skills before hitting to a World Cup track. Check out some of my photos, I ride in Crans the main part of the season and it's even more fun to ride those trails than watch the video.

 Very good portrait of the track! If I remember correctly the course back to the gondola is a bit longer (with a drop or jump section) but they cut it in favor of the lake since it doesn't look very good for a cinegrapher I assume.
I feel the track is steeper than it looks in the video (which is given away a little by the braking of the rider). Definitely a black track, one of my favourites.

 Ok, I have one question. Does funicular from Les Violletes takes bikes to the summit?

 Yes, you can take the gondola to Plaine Morte and do the famous tour back down to Sion.
