Greg Callaghan has parted ways with Cube after riding for them since 2015. He quickly established himself as one of the fastest enduro racers in the world and has three EWS wins to his name, including the Irish double he picked up on home turf in 2015 and 2016.

bigquotesGreg Callaghan is leaving the Cube Bikes Action Team end of the Year 19‘. Thank you Greg Callaghan for amazing last years traveling & racing around the world, sharing with you lots of good moments on the podium and on track! We will miss the Irish touch in our Team for sure!Cube Bikes

bigquotesGreg‘s career start some years ago when I brought him from a privateer to a Pro Rider - now he leaves the Team as one of worlds best Enduro Riders! His spirit and professional action brought also the team to another level - and also we could share with him lots of podiums and outstanding moments! We wish him in his future career all the best and good luck ... #paintthehillgreen will never be forgotten!Claus Wachsmann, Team Manager

bigquotesAll good things must come to an end! Cannot thank everyone at the Cube Action Team enough for all the memories, successes, struggles and friendships over the last 5 years. Especially to @wxm_sports who brought me into the team all those years ago. When we first met at Eurobike in 2014 who could have known what the future held, so proud of what we accomplished together during these years. Thanks to everyone at Cube Bikes, the team staff, team mates and all the partners of the team who helped me and shared the good times, I’ll see you all again at the races for a beer and a chat. As for what’s next for me, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for that...Greg Callaghan

This week has seen more breakups than Taylor Swift's discography.

Taylor Swift... yes... oh yes. Cube? Who cares really. Cube plays the same role in the bike industry as the extra in cheap horror movie - dies first and nobody even remembers there was such incident after the movie is over.

@xice ah, if only. You forget, we've got to go through a week's worth of teasers per rider and per team before we get to stoke-sville.

I won't be satisfied with anything less than a "Pinkbike Primer: Everything You Need to Know About 2020 Team Changes" AND a long-form article about what all this means for cycling as an industry and the economy in general.

Hey, how about some company gets a finger out of their arse (@specialized I am counting on you) and say exactly as it is:

Hi folks, we just wanted to say that this fast bloke will be our new employee. Come on, give us some heads up and let’s be done with it. To make it worth your time, Here’s a vid of him doing full send sideways and a few fails that occured during filming. Love ya, appreciate your time, cheers!

They could do like Fatbmx. One article with a list of sponsor changes and then be done with it.

 Slow news week!
  • 1 0
Perhaps we see some new bike companies being created from all of this.

 @vinay:

One article = Less clicks! Every 100 clicks is worth a donut.

Hey Pinkbike, there are some really funny movies from Specialized Youtube channel. Much better entertainment than this. How about you post some Honestly, I could not give a flying damn about athlete sponsors unless it is Gwin riding for Brazzers...
  • 2 1
Honestly I know when getting lied too, but when big companies can delete all bad/ damaged comments, it is time to remove all branding from all my bikes
  • 2 1
 @aljoburr: what who when
  • 11 1
@WAKIdesigns "I could not give a flying damn"......sure you don't... thats why you have commented on nearly every one of these athlete break up PR's...that means you spent time, showed an interest, gave a shit.
  • 3 4
@stikmanglaspell: it’s entertaining to a degree as any other low bar News. But if Cube, Focus or IXS suddenly quit operations I would just keep munching my muesli... I can say the same about a couple of athletes ending careers that I have zero emotional connection with. Quite many folks don’t really care either otherwise I would care. Give me TLD bankrupts, Graves ends career and I will cry. Give me TLD colabs with Nike and I will eagerly wait for people to post offended comments about sweat shops....

@WAKIdesigns: ever considered that other people may find this interesting or fun too read even though you “clearly don’t” like this content?
  • 2 1
@cician: so you are giving me sht for this? Have you read other comments or just mine?
  • 1 0
I have watched those Specialized commercials. I don't think they are that funny. I think they are trying to shed the big corporate proprietary parts image.
  • 1 1
@WAKIdesigns: Not giving you shit. But if no one cares about team rumors or team changes as you say, Pinkbike probably wouldn’t care to write about it. It’s all about clicks. Clearly a lot of people, including you reads team news.?
  • 3 2
@cician: no. I just read the title and went straight to comments.
  • 1 0
 @aljoburr: what u mean?
  • 22 3
Think his results will only improve with a change of bike
  • 18 1
Red Bull is just going to announce a new Red Bull team with every rider on it for 2020 so they now actually just own mountain biking.
  • 11 0
 Looks like a session
  • 5 1
Oh and the the new Red Bull trail/DH/xc E- bike will be released with KERS and you can only race world cups if you have that setup and tyres manufactured by their associate sponsor.
  • 6 0
Fork stanchions are in the style of Red Bull tins and the rear air can is indeed that.
  • 5 1
Everybody's leaving the brands they ride. And after more punctures and nearly seeing my backside on a descent not meant for XC bikes I think it's time I leave my bike and get a trail bike.
  • 6 2
I'd leave cube too... Fuck me what a laundry list of bad looking bike designs.
  • 4 0
Ive also departed with my 3 year relationship with Devinci. If anyone wants a sweet Troy look in the Buy/Sell
  • 4 0
mountain biking has been #cancelled for being too rad
  • 4 0
I need to stop reading comments for 10 minutes and get back to work.

Big S here he comes....the publicity from the RB series and the Irish young guns already on the team make it a good fit.

 Nukeproof...

2019-2020 case for the history of studiers of sponsoring... DOMINO EFFECT so interesting to see how this sponsorship world either almost doesn't move or then when pieces really starts moving... everything falls apart!
  • 1 0
You think they are all only on one year contracts??
  • 2 0
@Chilliwacker: No I mean this transition to 29-20. Somehow long contracts there are many ways to finish them.
  • 3 1
The Departed 2 starring Greg Callaghan with Andreu Lacondeguy, Cody Kelley, Reed Boggs...

Seems like all the pro teams are empty now, I think they need my resume...
  • 2 0
See...now I think PB is trolling us. And, by Huey, it's entertaining.
  • 1 0
is it possibile every one is going away from their team? Are they going to do golf competions? I think so
  • 4 0
I think they will run down the mountain on foot.
  • 3 0
 When will it end!?
  • 1 0
incredible the chair change this year. I have the impression all rider are changing or enduro race is stopping
  • 2 1
Just when Cube bikes started to move on with the times... Maybe he prefers old school geo?
  • 2 0
Is every rider leaving to make their own bikes now?
  • 2 0
 Specialized...?
  • 3 1
Hopefully. Would love to see him on that new Enduro.
  • 3 0
@excavator666: could be any of the top teams, but with Graves gone from Specialized and Killian being at Specialized, I'd say Greg has gotten a good insight into the team.
