As many of you will be aware by now New Zealand's entered one of its darkest days on March 15th. At 1:40pm a gunman entered the Al-Noor mosque and opened fire on those inside, killing 43, before moving on to the Linwood Islamic Centre, 3km away, murdering a further seven. The death toll stands at 50, with a further 50 injured. Terrorism is not new, but terrorism in the south island of New Zealand took everyone by surprise.
Saddened by the March 15th Terrorist Attack in Christchurch and wanting to help in some way, we approached Troy Lee, world famous mountain bike helmet & apparel designer, to collaborate on this piece of art to auction off. All proceeds will be going to support the victims and their families.
Troy was in Rotorua painting helmets for fans at the Annual Crankworx Mountain Bike festival, but was eager to help the victims with a charity auction, and you see here the result, a custom designed, hand painted one off helmet that speaks of solidarity, togetherness and standing up for what is right. Kia Kaha Christchurch, we stand with you. Mahi Tahi.
