The smell of the crisp outdoors, the bitter taste of sweat as you climb, and the thrill of speed as you descend is often riddled with the painful reminders of gravity and mother earth. With over 40 years of experience in the business of body protection, Dainese continues to innovate and evolve the concept of protection, comfort, and style.

Throughout the summer of 2017 Dainese will be giving away free kits to 1 lucky winner every month. The Dainese prize packs will be DH or Enduro focused protection (winner chooses).

DH Kit give a way

Dainese

How do you win you ask? That's the best part! We don’t want your crash pictures or the stories that go along with them, there is no purchase necessary, and you don't even have to share anything on social media (unless you want to share your IG handle of course). All you have to do is simply enter your details in the fields below for the chance to win, and we will pick one lucky winner every month throughout the summer.

Here's an idea..........How about a contest where you just give your Pinkbike name and then if you get notified that you won ....then all the personal info !!!
  • 32 0
But, then the advertising goons won't get all those juicy statistics they need in order to harass people more effectively. Think of the goons!

@nvranka: Hahahaha! No Doubt! I think I heard something once about having cake and eating it too or something. Not sure entirely what that meant, but I think it applies to these guys...
  • 2 1
@VwHarman: If you don't eat cake, it just gets all dried out and stale. What's the point? Eat the damn cake!
  • 2 1
@nvranka: If you have to provide them info that they can then sell, then they arent really giving anything away.

 @moose-tastes-good: No, explain?

The little protection pads that you see on both kits are protective inserts to go in the Trailknit Tee (shoulders) and in the Trailknit Shorts (hips).

 Elbow pad. Or nut cup?

@rnm410: I believe he is referring to the other knee...the wee-knee.

I've been wearing a Dainese onesie bottom with hip and knee and upper body suit since I started riding DH. Going on 20 years now and it has saved me countless times including a recent race run where I missed a corner and went over a rock face and fell ten feet back first into a tree. Likely would have been stretchered off the hill if I wasn't wearing it. Instead of that , i finished my race run and wasnt even last. I don't how some of you guys ride with such minimal protection.

Entering my details as I sit here with an ice pack on back from yesterday's crash. The contest could have started earlier.

Knee pads would have been awesome two weeks ago.

Oh I'm delusional and frenetic and so am I. My dog rolled in a dead something today, great just great.
Smelled like some skank wank. If I had that Dianese kit I could scare the crap out of my dog,
her name is midge, that would be funny. I need a helmet too, where do I sign up for one of those?
Oh and if your riding a trail somewhere if you smile and say hi it's a lot better than if you act like
you are the shit even though your on the old school enve wheels.
Guess you can just buy the new in October, so killer dude. Maybe your from cali-rad-bro or some
Place that is so cali- rad- bro, do me a favor and stay there.

Kind of want it for hucking off the moon, and landing on a mountain side. The old moon to mountain side drop, but not without protection!

Remember back in the day when everyone in the Bike Park wore full Dainese suits?

Back when I was a wee lad and the internet was made of vacuum tubes powered by mice, I raced DH and had a massive crash in my full body Dainese kit (back when they looked like the link below). Paramedics said I rag dolled for something like 20-30 YARDS! I had a sprained neck, but not one single scratch on me otherwise. Don't know why non-high level racers wouldn't ride with protection. It's not that cumbersome, and can huck harder without having to spend time off the bike recovering.

These days I'm too slow/ enduro (old-duro) to be motivated to wear anything but knee pads and maybe a spine protector in my hydration pack (on the rare occasion I bring one, fannypack-duro). On the rare occasion I actually do ride fast enough to get hurt, it takes a lot longer to recover than it did when I was half my age. Love my Dainese trail skins (crashed in them, can still walk, pedal pretty darn well), if the rest of their enduro kit works equally well I'd probably wear that too.

I would like to enter this contest, but I do not under stand why so much personal info is needed. If I gave my home address will I start to get a lot more junk mail?
  • 14 1
Yes, they're going to start sending you boxes of useless crap. Please don't enter.
  • 5 1
No, they will simply give it to the CIA to help compile endless amounts of data on you and track your every move. Nothing to worry about. Its for your safety. They have your best interests in mind. Big Government will take care of you poor lowly creatures. If you would like more information just watch your local unbiased television station for everything you need to know. They'll handle everything else for you to make your life easier and more enjoyable. Trust them.
