Straight outta Pyrenees Orientales - France - meet Enduro World Series dominator, Damien Oton. Here Oton takes jack-of-all-trades to the next level, demonstrating elite skills across a wide array of disciplines. The hardworking Frenchman rips enduro moto, for instance, defies gravity on the Devinci Spartan, tackles steep road bike ascents, pumps iron like a skinny Arnold Schwarzenegger, and just generally rules all. His secret to winning? Having fun. His goal for the 2015 season? “Champion du monde, s'il vous plaît…” Loose translation: Destroy Ian Morrison.

 What about Quere?
  • 7 1
What about Yo' Barelli ?! ;-) To many frenchmen to remember their name tho'... ahah

This guy came out of nowhere last year. Stoked on his progression. Interesting to see, who's gonna make it this year. Big Grin

anyone know why he was running fox on his xc bike
  • 2 0
Missing another Frenchmen the most entertaining of them all and a dark horse in enduro any guesses?
  • 6 1
 CG of course !!

No tights or thongs (flip-flops), I don't think one can dominate without truely understanding the spirit of enduro. No tape work being incorporated in training is an obvious deficiency.

HMMM watch out for good old joe barnesy
  • 11 1
He has such a fast and loose style that i was just blown away... JG and JC should watch out 'cause i think this up coming season gonna be a tough one to win.

I realize this is sports journalism so everything has to be grossly exaggerated to keep us entertained, but he's going to be very disappointed if he expects to dominate anything, let alone the whole series.

What even constitutes dominating a stage? >5s gap? All these guys are monsters.

I guess this is more of a paid infomercial than journalism, but whatever.
  • 1 0
Problem with such exaggerations is that people expect you to live up to them...
  • 2 0
Exaggerations? He came in 2nd last year, how is 1st not realistic? What's the point in having goals if you don't believe in them?
  • 3 1
eee... people don't like others talking about domination and expect humility even from multiple world champs, it's the way we function, whether you like it or not. If Gee Atherton would say that he's going to dominate DH in 2015, bike-web would explode with hatered

A key to goal setting is telling others about them. If you don't, there's significantly less pressure to fulfill your goal. Maybe Oton is not humble, I've never met him, but he is keeping his sponsors happy by showing how serious he is. He nearly delivered last year, so telling Graves, Jerome and Fabien to 'watch out' (wink, wink) is all part of the mind game.

Oh well I read about the opposite, that you are less likely to achieve it, maybe Freud should settle it with Jung? And that has nothing to do with what I wrote, I said people (those watching commercials, potential buyers of anything his sponsors sell) don't like it when others people braggin about sht, yes it does look like a deliberate PR driven exaggeration, not his own words - I am not judging him, I don't give a sht, I don't care if he wins or not - if I did it would mean I want Graves, Barel, Rude, Keene, to lose, I don't know any of them - so I don't care even if Daniel Radcliffe wins on a broomstick or Martin Whiteley on and electric bike, I'll watch recaps with joy

Where did I say winning [the overall] wasn't realistic for Oton? Or that he shouldn't believe in his goals? GD it's like people don't understand anything unless it's sensationalized.

 Some people excell under pressure.

CaptainSnappy. As i work with Damien, i just can tell you is humble, more than those fews lines to presents the video can let think Wink Just joign his page on FB www.facebook.com/damienoton.mtb But i can also say he's willing to fight for the first place, even if he knows 5 or 6 guys can be faster.

So stoked for this good c*nt! Few months ago he was still a local plumber! Though they are gifted mtbikers, guys like JG or JC are professional athletes and they were training as such when Oton was still doing his part for the working class.

Now than he trains like many other pro enduro riders behind him in last year's overall it is reasonable to expect more from him. He got the bike, a good trainer -ex WC XC rider- and a good training program. Nothing else than #1!

In Espadrilles we trust!!!

Nah mr graves is going to dominate!! Oton is not ready
  • 2 0
Because he came in 2nd overall in 2014? Oh yeah he is so not ready. Just like Ratboy?
  • 1 1
No because he will have a stacked field! Graves, Clementz ,barel, lau, volluioz, then maybe otot that's a lot of people to contend with leov, maes, wilharber just to name a few .
