Danny MacAskill pulls out all the stops with a range of awe-inspiring and technical tricks, using the beautiful landscape of Aviemore as his playground.
Aside from the biking, I think the editing and music syncing of Danny's videos are what makes them so damn enthralling. It's just a beautiful thing to watch from all perspectives.
Also... HOLY HELL THAT RAIL.
Kind of a nice change of pace not having to fear for his life in this one. That said, riding UPHILL on that hand rail has got to be one of the most difficult tricks I've seen him do, even if he isn't millimeters away from imminent death.
Every time I see him in that slow-speed backwards wheelie I just know he's gonna finish it off with a tailwhip. Didn't disappoint!
He just makes the extraordinary look so casual and effortless.
I normally watch pinkbike vids on my phone in the toilet while im taking my morning poo but I knew I would have to wait and watch this on the big screen. It was worth it!
so sick! but just after that at 2:01; the front wheel 360 stall on the top of the back of the bench with the backward pedaling fakie to tailwhip out though, that was my favorite.
Agreed. I feel same way toward Rampage. I'm 100% in favor of watching top level riders run the ragged edge of speed and pull off insane tricks on ballsy terrain. Doing it along the edge of a cliff adds nothing for me.
had a shity day , tired as Dubai forced workers , but this just put a very big smile on my face - i have no street skills at all but it's 1Am and i'm taking my old P.2 out right f**king now ! ROLLING BACKWARD ON THE STEP SIGN !!!!
This is my favorite Danny video. It has features and scenery we can relate to and shows the mindset all of us have sometimes when we look around at things and think 'can I ride that?'
If washing my bike with muc-off will make ride like that, I'll wash my bike every day and I'll even drink the stuff if I have to.
Danny, your brain must only see stuff to land on as I would only see the height and possibility of failling and braking bones scenarios. Just freaking incredible.
That's a cracking vid From a trials rider's perspective great to see him riding normal street. Some of the stuff in that vid was do-able then some of it was absolutely nuts no chance.
One thing I love about Danny's vids is he always looks like he's just stoked to be out riding.
gawd... same here... I am proud of myself because my B hop is approaching the automatic stage, but watching this makes me feel like a hack amateur... amazing skill and bike handling here.. I'm gobsmacked I tell ya...
Love these short vids of the local towns. Danny always makes biking look fun.. on the trails or off the trails. Hopefully see the legend around soon enough... and i can tell him all about my huge man crush or maybe not haha
Sometimes I wish I had my own Danny to do all those dirty thing I imagine while walking on the street, or mountain... he rides excatly like what I imagine in them. I think we should all get a clone of him, some company should start developing that...
His videos are simply amazing.
0:32 gives me déjà vu. I saw something very similar in an older video, where someone, maybe Danny, maybe not, was visiting some legendary old school biker in his home. Can anyone remind me of the title of that video?
With this D-Mac video coming out, I feel satisfied with the first half of the year. Now I am looking forward to another Chris Akrigg film for the second half.
its just my imagination, what if Danny doing all sort of trick midair while dropping from airplane with his bike. and landed on top of NY or any city with parachute.. that would be like seeing angel fall from the skies. apart from that has anyone knows the link for behind the scene? that would be so cool.
Brilliant! Every time he drops a new video there's something I've never seen in there. Were I younger and braver I'd surely take up trials riding because afterwards you can ride absolutely everything!
That last banger was bananas, with that speed heading in and the nose manual out, that's some heavy consequence if shit goes wrong. He is a wizard for sure.
I agree....He keeps being compared to Akrigg but they are pretty different and both not really human. Danny, however, has proven how great he is on a trail bike as well. Not sure Akrigg can touch the skills that Danny has trials wise....Nobody can!
@Tersie: True, but aren't trials competitions where they have to get through the course without setting a foot down?
Danny is more of a street trials rider, more tricks. Not taking anything away from Akrigg. His are actually my favorite videos since he varies the bikes and terrain with each video. These 2 are just unbelievable.
@mayha49: @mayha49: Both are incredible riders, like I'm pretty sure they're Aliens. I wouldn't say one is better though, the only time I saw them both doing the same thing is in Road Bike Party, both were great. I would say that Akrigg is more versatile though, I never saw him on a trials bike but multiple times on an All-mountain, trail or even downhilling on a f*cking cyclocross. Danny makes it look a little easier but you pretty much know what he's going to do most of the time in his videos, that does not mean it's any less impressive, just predictable. So thankful I can enjoy both of those history making riders teaching me how I suck without even talking.
So many 'bests'.... all the world champs in DH, Enduro, BMX, slopestyle, freeride, plus all the nearlys who missed out by bad luck and not for lack of skill. Personally I enjoy Ackrigg's vids more but then again I think The Ridge is one of the most EPIC MTB vids ever made... so c'mon... they're ALL the best. We're just SOOOOOO lucky to get to enjoy them all
I thought it was awesome to see how regular people stopped to watch and were stoked. You know what the young bucks in the crowd want to be when they grow up...
YEEES OLD DANNY IS BACK!
i felt the enjoyability of his videos took a downward trend after epechuehue. he is doing more than just trialsy stuff, he is doing big street tricks again! i love it!
keep it up, a little longer and a little less still videos of random things and the videos will be getting back to way back home level
I hate to say this... honestly ive watched so many of his videos, they all look like the exact same tricks from his last videos... exactly like his last video. I mean hes so fucking creative. why does it seem today that I'm watchin danny 5 years ago in a different video with different editing
check out this sweet article www.descent-world.co.uk/2016/05/06/davemack
The move at 1:55... blind backside 180 from a benchback onto a janky rock...I think I just watched it 20 times.
Loved it.
One thing I love about Danny's vids is he always looks like he's just stoked to be out riding.
Beautifully edited as well great stuff.
He's riding with Hans Rey and Steve Peat.
apart from that has anyone knows the link for behind the scene? that would be so cool.
