Video: Dean Tennant & Remy Metailler Hit Up The Jordie Lunn Bike Park

A few weeks ago I got the chance to ride the new Jordie Lunn Bike Park with Dean Tennant. Jordie was an incredible free rider with such a creative vision who brought a lot to the sport but sadly passed away in Mexico in 2019. Following his death the city of Langford has decided to name the Bike Park after him to honor his impact on the community.

Dean Tennant was the project manager of the park but also a rider I looked up to a lot before coming to Canada in 2013. He had some iconic edits, and is part of the reason why I have wanted to ride in BC. Incredible to ride there together and hopefully spread a positive light on Jordie.

I was riding here almost every day last summer. It is a really nice regional park. Good on the City of Langford for putting this park in.

I remember being at Crankworx in 2019 a couple of months before his death and Jordie was at the YT booth doing the shmoozing thing with the public.

I wanted to demo one of their e-bikes but they were all out. He said "hey man just take mine". When I got back he asked if I wanted a beer, I said of course and hung out for a few minutes and shared a couple of beers. He seemed like a great guy.

HOw baller is that - I'd be telling that story all the time. Good on ya. Funny how one dude can make such ripples in the world - and he was doing that before he passed. It just blows the mind tho, the dude who looked like a bulldog that could tear your head off in a second was just the kindest dude.

Wow, assuming the reason towns down here under Canada can't have that is the lawyer vultures would have a feast on any injuries. We can barely even build bridges in our public land.

That expression from Remy when someone he admired as a younger person -DT expressed to Remy his admiration towards his riding was a golden moment. That was the best part of the whole video not to mention the riding as well!
