Yeah, i thought so too. I'm usually that salty dude too that rolls his eyes about all of the "photographers" but i have say her's was pretty stellar and unique. the 1st place one told a pretty cool story too but over all i was impressed my all, hers the most however.
Yeah Hailey should have won this, I guess creativity doesn't mean much anymore. Telling a story is what their after, but sheez the alarm clock, text, coffee, breakfast scenario is sooooo over.
From all these slideshows one thing stands out to me. From what I understand, these were all taken during Crankworx. Which has to be the most crowded week of the season. What strikes me most is in spite of how crowded the park is the endless variety of terrain, scenery, and trail type choice is astounding. If you want to hang in a crowd and send it with a bunch of folks... got it. A quiet fun family outing in the woods and meadows ...? Got it. Need to find your space on top of a mountain? Got that. Shred down an enduro trail with your pooch? Yep. Spend some time on a lake practicing your backflips into the water?... no problem. Take a kayak out and chill? It’s there for you. Seems that there’s no end to the fun you can have at Whistler. Must get to Whistler next year.
The only thing Haylies had over the others was some creativity, and not much. it was nothing new either. Lame effects, lame lights, people splashing in puddles in town, deep voice talking about the vibe of Whistler etc. The winner really showed the vibe of Whistler much better, was far less random and had some gnarly riding. Haylie didnt win, rightfully so. Boring. So much whining from you folks. Just being devils advocate. It was still an amazing slideshow.
