The crew at Deity are proud to announce that they have returned to Canada in a big way with the addition of Trident Sports as the exclusive Deity distributor in Canada! [Edit and Images by Virtu Media]

With a likeminded focus on customer service, dealer relationships, and unrivaled product support, the partnership with Trident Sports has been a year in the making. With product ready to fill their shelves and set to ship to hundreds of dealers across Canada, Deity is excited to see the product finally become available and supported properly up North.

We have been very patient as we passed on a lot of distribution requests while we waited for the right people who embody some of the values that make our brand unlike anything on the market. From communication to customer service to an understanding of the MTB culture, the crew at Trident Sports have the tools to properly represent our brand in one of our favorite places in the world, Canada.Eric Davies (Deity, Owner)

Our goal with this partnership with Trident Sports is to make our product not only accessible to bike shops and consumers, but to also have a company that will be passionate about what makes us unique. We have evolved tremendously over the past 5 years and our product plans over the coming months will signify a massive growth on our end. We are about to start releasing the best product we have ever designed, so the timing of having Trident come on board is absolutely perfect. They share our passion for Deity and are eager to present Deity to Canada like never before. We are both hungry youthful companies that understand the voice of our consumer as well as focusing on customer service first and foremost. Once you see, feel, or ride Deity you understand why we have such a loyal following and we have no doubt with Trident’s help, we will convert you too!Sadie Davies (Deity, Distribution Manager)

Located in Vancouver, BC and a company founded on a passion for both water and dirt activities, Trident Sports has selectively built a brand roster that allows them to focus individual attention to each brand, their goals, and the specific needs to help make the product be successful for bike shops. With their goals to carry top quality products, offer great price points, provide the very best in customer service, and remain personally active in the sport cultures they cater to, Deity will be joining their successful brand portfolio that consists of Banshee Bikes, Gamut USA, Alpinestars and more.

We’re extremely excited to launch our partnership with Deity,” said Dalen Stanley, Bike Division Manager of Trident Sports. “We have seen the evolution and growth of Deity’s product line over the past five years and feel it is just what mountain bikers in Canada are looking for. It is going to be great working with a brand that is as excited about riding bikes as making amazing products and their passion is contagious.

With multiple massive waves of Deity product launches slated throughout the year, the current Deity product line will see some exciting additions to their award winning product line. From new handlebars, stems, to the debut of two all new lines of pedals that have been 2 years in the making, Deity is hungry to bring their components to a market that has been needing some added options and diversity.

There is a huge presence in Canada by a handful of component brands and we are so excited to join them as an option for riders out there. The last time we were distributed in Canada, our components were as simple as they can come and to say that we have evolved from the early years of the company, is an understatement. We started with minimal financial resources and to this day, we do not have any investors, partners, or other outside forces breathing down our necks. Nevertheless, patience and strategic decision making has allowed us to become a company that now channels a quarter million dollars into product development annually. We are a true rider owned, funded, and operated company who has been racking up rave reviews and awards for a reason. It is about time that Canada got to see why DIRT Magazine ranked our Blacklabel handlebar as one of the top 3 handlebars in the world for 2 straight years and why we have become one of the most sought after companies to work closely with. As the person who saw what Deity could be and formed this brand, I have never been a bigger fan of what we are doing and we cannot wait to show our loyal fans and riders, who have yet to touch a Deity part, what makes us so special.Eric Davies (Deity, Owner)

"customer service, dealer relationships, and unrivaled product support" Because this is exactly why bike shops love Trident. lol

That's pretty harsh. We could name some distributors in Canada and the US that have given us pathetic or non-existent service (doesn't mean they're bad distributors). Service is all about a relationship and we have had a stellar relationship with Trident all 9 years of our operation. We are very excited to begin to represent Deity components and frames in 2015 and it's all precisely because we know we can count on excellent stock, service, and after-sales support from our friends at Trident.

...At least OGC owns the tools to service the suspension they sell.

Congrats Canada Deity just went from easily attainable to snowballs in a volcano

totally - now I have to go to my shop, tell them I want whatever product in whatever color, which won't be in stock, so they can then push some other product and color on me, and unless I relent, I can wait 3 weeks for the product to arrive! well done everyone!

The crew at Trident are ahead of the curve and already have multiple orders in with us, so availability will be amazing. We take coming into Canada very seriously as we respect the market there, the IBD, and wanted a distributor who would focus on making sure customers did not have to wait or deal with backorders. In the end, a distributor must forecast, project, and time their orders/productions accordingly. All of these things have been in effect with Trident months ago. Trident's primary focus is on customer support and product stock, so we have faith you guys will be quite pleased. Good things are coming.

Best of luck... I've been in the Canadian bike shop market all over Canada for quite a while now and have never had an experience with Trident that I would call good. We used to have great relationships with Trident but in the last 5-10 years its become just a mess of un-returned phone calls, misplaced orders, incorrect delivery and connections never made. It was never that Trident didn't have stock its that their service to the dealers has in my experience has been sub par. Its all well and good to have a warehouse full of stock and tell your dealers you are there to support you but when they call you and ask about service on something as complex as some suspension can be for instance you have to be able to provide something otherwise there's your "great service" costing everyone.

Communication is key to our company and your feedback is valuable to us! We will be working closely with Trident to make sure they have the information necessary to equip dealers with about our products. Our line of communication with consumers and IBD will be wide open and we are always here to help any and all dealers in Canada. We know that Trident has done some restructuring since moving away from offering suspension and it would be amazing if you get a chance to reach out to them to voice some of your concerns. They are eager to listen and that type of feedback is priceless.

The straw that broke the camels back is support, this won't be a huge issue with Deity granted but its still a huge part of integrity. To me a buisiness can't just stop selling something one year and then tell everyone the next year that there's nothing you can do for them because "we don't sell that certain product anymore".

I really like Deity, right from the beginning you guys were the only one making a white bar and stem when that's what every kid wanted. But if you read the comments here (granted its pinkbike, its the internet everyone will say anything hiding behind a computer) but you can tell I'm not the only person that thinks this may go south. I'm not saying that this was a bad decision. Hell I'm just a bike mechanic trail builder I know very little about the type of business that you guys conduct and I don't pretend to know. My point in all of this is I guess that Trident has some proving to do to the IBDs in the Canadian market. I hope for the bike worlds sake that they can run a great business and help their dealers with integrity and in a timely fashion. I want everyone to have the choice to have exactly what they want and I hate telling people I can't order them something.

Some of my previous comments may have been made without adequate thought for that I apologize but there are warranted apprehensions shown in the comments here.

Hi Samnation, I'm Dalen and I work for Trident Sports. I'm sorry you have had a negative experience with our company. I would like the opportunity to learn about the negative experiences that you had so we can fix them on our end. Hopefully we can have the opportunity to change you opinion in the future since we are really passionate about giving good experiences to our customers. Feel free to email me at dalen@tridentsports.com if you want to talk.

Deity treated me well a few years back when I ordered a Dirty 30 handlebar from their website and promptly sent it with a bunch of stickers and followed up with an email with a discount for a future purchase. I don't have personal experience with Trident but to be honest have never heard anything good. I am now a Banshee owner so I have high hopes that if I ever need to deal with them, that they will offer the same stellar service that Deity originally did.

 Well, there's always CRC...

Makes me wonder why anyone would want to be their distributor, waste valuable warehouse storage carrying the stock, when their products can easily be bought online, sometimes for cheaper(*cough* CRC *cough*).

On the plus side it seems deity actually does care. At least customers know that if they do deal with this distributor, regardless of what their reputation might be, that the manufacturer is likely to have your back. Good luck Deity!
